As ive mentioned in another post. There are 15 fighters at middleweight and light middleweigh that have his number
His chances are on par with Barker's. Very slim imo. But he is with Goldenboy and he has Roach in his corner so that will definitely improve his chances but I just don't think he is good enough. No power, speed isn't great either. He does have an awkward style though that gives one dimensional fighters problems.
Its hard to say to be honest . The fact that as has been stated he has Roach training him and golden boy promoting him would suggest that hey see something in him. I've only seen him a couple of times on FNF on channel 5 andhe looked decent but its hard to judge how good he is because i dont know anything about the guys he's fighting and how good they are. I'm suprised golden boy dont try to put him on a uk bill to try and raise his profile.
If he was 22/23 I'd probably say yes, because I feel there would be enough time to iron out the flaws and introduce improvements in Craig's game before he declines physically. However he's 28 already and still needs plenty of work before he'll be ready for even the likes of Sylvester. If there's a champion as poor as Sylvester around in 3 years time and McEwan can get a shot at him he has a chance. But I think it's unlikely that'll happen. Middleweight has plenty of good prospects and McEwan going through the American system will probably have to beat a few of them if he even wants to get a shot at the title some time in the future. Despite having the right, trainer and right promoter I just can't see it. Not saying it's impossible but it's unlikely.
Giving an honest analysis of a fighter is hating? You're doing McEwan no favours at all. I actually like the lad but it seems every one of his fans on here are twats.
Craig McEwan has the footwork of Ali, the defence of Mayweather and the power of Mike Tyson. Happy now? atsch
I would like to have seen how the forum would be on McEwan if he stayed in the UK for 15 or so fights. I've been harsh on Craig in the past but Boone & Vera are two good wins but he needs to push on now, I know we hear about people turning down fights with him but every fighter has the same story. Hopefully GBP push Craig now he's getting on a bit (age wise).
I just said yeah, why not? I've barely seen him bar on FNF but he seems decent enough and he's been pretty highly touted. I've seen people on here hype worse... ... if you include the IBO I could see him having Manfredo
