this Snijders guy was terrible for a supposedly top prospect's fifteenth fight, but the one who I still chuckle about was the bloke he took on on his first fight, just a totally unsuitable opponent for a potential future top fighter.
The plan is to gamble on a big win against Joyce then cash out in a big fight. Probably Fury or Joshua. Warren knows that Dubois is glass jawed and limited hence the coddling of him in general. The duck of Pfeifer was totally disgraceful. as others have pointed out Dubois probably would have won that as the German hasn't looked very good in the pros thus far - still too much of a risk for Warren to sleep easy on.
Yes he could well win one of the alphabet of world titles, he can punch, he is a big unit, Wilder did ok merely by being tall and having a powerful punch so why not Dubois. To date Dubois has not been tested, if he is willing to listen to his trainers when his deficits are exposed and acts to recitify them, yes a belt could be his, we are hardly in a golden age of having an abundance of ATGs queuing up to take the titles in the heavyweight division.
He'll need to improve significantly and fight way better opponents than the Dutch pancake. He has no head movement and he is pretty slow. But he is big , powerful and is very young.
Starting to look like that. How else can you explain the last opponent for DD? He certainly looks like he might pick up a belt, but until he beats serious competition you can't think he'll ever be considered "the guy" at HW. Regarding level of competition, too many of these top prospects (some 30+) continue to fight low level fighters. Seems to me they want to keep their "0" until they can make a big $ fight.
