he'll get more respect that he gets now, even though they are both small guys compared to him

indeed, but if you consider that Pacquiao is a southpaw, as quick or quicker than Floyd, has very respectable power, fights off rhythm, and has a master tactician in his corner you gotta give him a chance of beating Floyd

i think Mosley poses the biggest threat stylistically out of the welters but then again he's old and was effectively considered washed up before the Margarito fight, so maybe Cotto makes more sense. and personally, i feel Mayweather would make easy work of Cotto

he never get respected because the Haters and people that hate him in general would always have something negative say about him regardless of what he does. If that man beats King Kong himself then people would have to say he needs to fight Godzilla !!!! So this would be a never ending until he is defeated then people will continue to say **** about him

He certainly has a chance. Far more so than I would of given him before last night. His speed was phenomenal, timing immaculate and his power....... Add to that, Mayweather's layoff and that he might only have 1 fight before Pacman against a far smaller figher who hasn't done anything at 140 let alone above that and the odds look better for Pacman. But Mayweather does not blow up in weight between fights. He's a master boxer with physical abilities to match Pacman. I can see him having it all his own way with Marquez by taking him the distance to shake off any kind of ring rust. I'm not sure if he fancies taking on any of the welters though which would be a shame.

Beating two guys who were recently fighting at 130 does not prove you are the best welterweight in the world. If Floyd is a welterweight he should fight the best in his division and if not he should move down to 140.

He probably won't get the respect he would deserve for them until he retires, like most fighters we will only realise how good mayweather was after he's been retired for a few years. I doubt people would give him any respect for beating mosely either, he doesn't get much for the dela hoya fight so why for shane?

floyd will not be respected unless he fights cotto and beats him but he dont have the balls to get in there with cotto..he likes to fight lil guys although i think pacman will give him trouble cause of the southpaw stance which mayweather has trouble with and the speed of his legs which i believe it'll be hard for mayweather to catch him..but he should fight cotto if he gets passed marquez

Floyd moved to 147 in 2005 and his only wins against a real welterweight are against a faded Oscar and Baldomir.Mayweather is a safety first fighter in and out of the ring. :hi:

The question is, if JMM beats Floyd.. His legacy is pretty much shot
