I don't think willpower or mental strength has anything to do with it. instead, I think fury has some skeletons from his past that he will need to make peace with in the future, or bad things will start happening when he's out on the grog in later life the fact that he still drinks to excess and does drugs after having children lends weight to that argument IMO - if you can't get either under control for your kids, then you've really got a problem I don't think he'll have any problem cutting the weight again, but I also believe that he'll balloon very quickly as well. he'll live 100% wrong or 100% right. I expect him to be a seriously obese man with imminent major health issues by the time he is in his forties
Shannon Briggs got down as low as 238 in his 40's against Zubramo Love. He ballooned up to 275 in his 30's against Ibragomov. Fury is only 28 , he should have no problem getting back down to 250/255
I think he has chronic depression that he hasn't had help with. In fairness he needs that sorting before he contemplates any ring return. I wouldn't be surprised if I come on here one day and the top thread is Tyson commiting suicide, obviously I hope that's not going to be the case, but I think he smacks of someone in pain mentally. Reading between the lines, I think Peter Fury has/would help him but cant get through to him !
I reckon Fury's being hovering around 380lb. Hes in a league of his own as an athlete that's out of shape !
Who knows where Fury's at mentally? Nowhere good, it looks like. He also looks like he's suffering from some sort of thyroid condition, which would make losing weight very difficult. I don't expect we'll ever see him back in the ring again.
Twelve-step programs call on the addict, in a seeming forfeiture of willpower, to recognize their powerlessness over drugs and alcohol and to ask for help. Paradoxically, by surrendering their will and recognizing that they don’t have all the answers, addicts find the will to recover.
He can defintely do it if he is determined and disciplined enough.. He is still young. Well see.. I personally hope he surprises everyone and comes back to dominate.
Fury will 100% Lose the fat Losing fat is easy work, he has nearly 100 pounds excess though. He can't rush unless he wants stretch marks and other bad side effects. He won't be the same if rushes but I say Fury-AJ in December/late fall is possible
the question isn't "is it possible for fury to get back down to 250" because it is, especially at fury's age. the question is whether the fat **** actually has the willpower to train and box again and no, saying "I'm making a comeback" on his twitter account does not count.
I'll be very surprised if he get down to the 245-250lbs he was during his prime and yes I'm saying prime in past tense because we can forget about seeing the fighter that beat Wlad ever again. He's been through too much to expect to get back to where he was. I'll be impressed if he can see his toes by his supposed April return date.
He has the type of body that will show every pound of excess in the form of blubber. He is extremely tall yet his optimum weight is 245.
