Really GGG should fight Vera in Texas, Vera has love here, I'm realistic about what would happen but Vera wants it so let him get some money

I dont think maclin and chavez would fight ggg without a tune up. Martinez and quillin are busy. Geale and sturm are pussies. Pirog is still injured(spinal disc herniation, i think).

Usually a boxer gets avoided because they are too low reward for the risk but a Golovkin fight is becoming more rewarding. He is rated highly, has a belt, and is getting HBO behind him. There's acclaim, money, and titles on the line whenever you face Golovkin, surely one of the top middleweights would be tempted by that.

There's a lot of good fighters at 160-168, someone has to be willing to step up. I don't really want to see Golovkin face anymore jr middleweights and I'd prefer him to stay at 160 but I'm skeptical that there's no one better than Vera who is willing to face Golovkin.

    That's what I'm hoping for.

HBO better not become Arum's ***** though, cause Golden Boy fighters shut out is bad news already for GGG, and what if Arum says none of my guys will fight him? I'm afraid GGG has way too many fans among his rivals who would rather enjoy his matches from the comfort of their sofa. :-(

The good thing there is that GBP and Top Rank don't have too many middleweights between them. GBP has Quillen and Jacobs while Top Rank has Chavez and thats about it between them that I can think of. It seems the 160 and even 168 divisions are spread out with almost every promoter other than the big 2.

I agree with you that I'm afraid HBO is going to do what Arum tells them to. The thing there is that they don't have to. There's plenty of fighters out there not with Top Rank and Golden Boy and HBO doesn't have to be run by Arum but I think they will to some degree.

I'd add here Barker and Rubio as legit 160 ponders. Anyway I hope one of these guys from the list will accept a fight with 3G. :yep

That was valid while he was a jr titlist, fighting in Germany and Panama and such. He's about to have his 3rd HBO date in 8 months, and you're only hearing crickets from the contenders.

Martinez, Quillin, Chavez Jr., Sturm, Pirog, Barker are almost set not to fight GGG this june.

Geale and Macklin are his best options and should be his target although both are sounding unlikely.

GGG should start considering names like Vera, Rubio, Lee, J. Taylor, Mundine, N'Dam, Zbik, all solid oposition .

Vera is a guy i find myself rooting for more often then not

hes got a lot of heart and has pulled off more than one upset over a "superior fighter" and is tough as nails
