Will Hopkins win by cutting Kovalev with a headbutt?

    When faced with a better boxer, Hopkins uses deliberate headbutts. Perhaps one reason he was always afraid to leave the US, is because his referees let him get away with it.

    Here says the outcome of his fight with Joe Calzaghe will be like Muhammed Ali vs. Henry Cooper I:

    Remember Hopkins cut Wright, Cloud and Dawson (in the second fight) with what appeared to be deliberate headbutts.

    I wonder will a nationalistic referee like Steve Smoger or a crooked referee like Laurence Cole or Jack Reiss say a headbutt cut is from a punch, so Hopkins can win by TKO?

    Or will a ref say it's an "unintentional" headbutt and send it to the cards where the judges can rob Sergey?

    If he does something deliberate, Kovalev will just mess him up even worse. Kovalev isn't the type of guy you go trying to incite.

    The chances of Kovalev getting cut by ''accidental'' butts in this fight are very high. Hopkins doesn't lead with the head and butt to try and win on a cut. It's a tactic he uses to try to demoralize his opponents and distract them from their game plans. He also uses it as a distraction so that he can catch them with a sneaky shot while they're trying to get out of harms way of the top of his head crashing into their faces.

    Kovalev is going to have to be watchful of getting caught with a big shot on the chin directly after being hit low or when he steps out of range and re-sets himself too.

    This is just a selection of some of his ''unintentional'' butts from a few rounds of the Calzaghe fight.

    And here's a couple more from the second round. The first is at 0:34 and at the 0:54 mark he lands another, this time it's a really vicious one which noticeably hurts Calzaghe. Then a few seconds later at the 1:02 mark when Calzaghe gives him a little tap on the thigh by way of retaliation, Hopkins tries to make out it caught him in the nuts and starts crying to the referee and wants to take a time out.

    he wasnt really he was stating stuff that was true and hopkins got upset with it as it made his argement look a bit silly

    Nah, he was asking stupid questions. Hopkins was being an even bigger dick though. He thought the Brit white boy journalist had been sent by ''The Man'' to find out what his strategy was. lol
