No, and he shouldn't be expected to.. He deserves at least one winnable defense, his mandatory BJS is a good fight. But after that he needs to man up and face the beast. Which I think he will, Lee is no coward.
Why end the lee train so disastrously. Jacobs Quillan Taylor And the other usual contenders would all be a more fitting reception to the champion.
So I see even boxing fans force GGG to move up without him proving to be the best MW. No Andy, No Taylor, No Cotto. "GGG, GTFO to 168, we don't need you here, in our little circle jerk"
You described the better way for Andy to develop his champioship career. Whilst I get it from a business perspective and what's better for a fighter, but for us boxing fans does it really matter? The way you said it made me think you fancy this development for Andy, like many others here, and that's what I don't get. Maybe I'm wrong, but the best should fight the best, and therefore the logical bout is with GGG.
Ah ok thank you. Ya thats my fault on how i worded it. The reason im not clamoring for lee vs G fight is that i actually dont think hes a worthy challenger to G. I think its awesome that he got this win and if hes able to build something off if by beating another top guy i would be for a G fight but as it stands id rather see G vs Murray, cotto, canelo, and quillan. None but murray will probably fight him tho lol. So seeing as how i dont think lee is an exciting challenger, nor a worthy one, nor a fighter whos popular enough to make up for the lack of the first two i just dont want to see the fight. You say the best vs the best but i dont really see lee in that category and getting a trinket doesnt really change that to me, i never rated his opponent highly so while im happy lee achieved a dream i put it in perspective and it doesnt automatically make him one of the best to me. Since i dont want to see the fight, i listed other fights id rather see lee in, which if he wins would make a G fight more exciting. So yes i was talking in terms of building lee, but only because him vs G doesnt make a blip on my radar. Seeing as how G probably wont get a fight with the other 4 or 5 guys id rather him face it wouldnt suprise me to see a fight with lee. A fight thats not competitive, not exciting, and G will get 0 credit for. But, just imo of course. I for one want G to stay at middleweight his entire career and rule it so thats why the moving up to 168 comment i didnt understand. I never want G at 168. I want him to hagler and hopkins this division, if hes capable.
Saunders is WBO mandatory right now. Golovkin v Lee was basically a done deal for April of this year, but GGG had to withdraw. Lee will not avoid Golovkin. How do you people forget this sh*t so quickly?
Fight makes no sense, he's obviously fighting BJS next. And with Lemieux's weak chin, I wouldn't be shocked if he got starched against Lee.
Thanks for clarification. I want the same for GGG, but he's in catch 22. He still needs belts to become an attraction for good fights, belts still mean currency to him taking into consideration his treatment of opponents in the ring. It'll be good if WBC strap will be on the line but it won't be enough if somehow Cotto/Canelo manage to not fight him. And so on.
