Mayweather stated before that fighting Pacquaio would be a lose lose situation for himself, stating that Pacquaio has already lost 3 fights before...I honestly think this is a dangerous fight for Paquaio. If he loses the peds will be forgotten about intead he will be coming off a loss, which Mayweather will use against him.
If pac loses to clottey he can forget ever fighting mayweather. Mayweather would go on to fight mosley and berto and regain p4p number 1. Pac losing to someone like clottey who has never won any big fights will harm his p4p status greatly. *******s would lose their minds. To be honest no, I wouldn't. I would love to see Mayweather vs. Mosley though, provided that Mosley wins against Berto. I think Mosley would have more chance against Mayweather than Pacquiao.
Mayweather obviously has no intention of fighting any top welterweights, including Pacquaio. It doesn't matter if Paq loses or wins against Clottey. Mayweather won't fight Clottey, Mosely, Williams or Cotto under any circumstances. He wants to fight smaller guys like Marquez and Malinaggi. Even if Berto wins against Mosely, Floyd'll rationalize an excuse not to fight him either.
