No one doubts Sergio is the champ. What I'm saying here is that Sergio's ratings before he fought Jr on PPV are equal to GGG's ratings. If you say GGG's not a star that means Sergio's not star either. And it took Sergio longer to do 1.1 mil. Numbers don't lie.

Forget the Floyd fight, of course anybody will take that if offered. You said he's not deserving of a Sergio shot. Is that as undeserving as Barker, Macklin, Dzin, Murray?

Why don't you tell Martinez' promoter GGG is a hypejob?

If you know something about Sergio, he isn't the ducking type. He will and wants to fight him, i just hope Di bella allows him to

    wtf are you talking about?

btw Martinez is such an hypocrite

calling Chavez a ducker for so long when he's been shamelessly ducking GGG for even longer

I can understand his current duckjob, as everybody knows GGG would utterly brutalize his old, ruined self

but even when Martinez was hot ****/ MW kingpin /Floyd's worst nightmare etc he avoided GGG like the plague:verysad

at least Chavez stepped up to the challenge, Martinez never will

    Agreed.

    Sergio has balls. Big balls.

He surely showed those balls in the Murray fight when he was faking low blows and bs heabutt

and is showing them now by still avoiding GGG like the plague

if people weren't so blinded by their hate for Chavez jr, they'd see Martinez as the metro***ual fraud he is

I also have nothing but respect for Maravilla, and while he has to consider the financial rewards first and foremost in what are likely to be his last coupla fights, he's already publicly stated his loyalty to HBO. I also feel Martinez, like you say would rather leave a legacy intact, even in loss by giving his all against the young(er) pretender, than have it said he avoided the challenge.

I also think that HBO will reward Sergio handsomely in $s for giving Gena the shot at the lineal. I see this fight happening, probably late 2014

how can you sympathise with someone who's had to reschedule a fight 3 fu<king times, then still raise the agreed catchweight because he can't be bothered to train properly?

Ok so lets get this straight...

Martinez was ducking Golovkin when he chose to fight bigger names with substantially better resumes such as Dzinzurik, Chavez Jr and Paul Williams?

Lets also make it clear that a prime Martinez absolutely toys with Golovkin.

Maravilla's got 1 perhaps 2 top fights left in him. Murray ain't gonna be one of them, deserved or not. Murray simply ain't big enough for a cash out fight. Besides Martin's already a mandatory challenger for someone else...

I really like Murray (and Sergio FWIW), but Martin's gotta be looking either towards his Mando with GGG or a big domestic (and I think he could prove himself top of the pile over here),

At this point I do not even care. Golovkin would not get credit for beating Martinez anyway. Plus Martinez is on a fight by fight slide while Golovkin continues to improve. This massacre will not even happen until late next summer at the earliest, assuming Martinez does not fall apart in the interim.
