Obviously Golovkin brought no money or name to the table even as late as JCC jr fight. And suggestions that Sergio ducked in the past are ludacris, but the events of the last 12 months clearly make GGG the next big prospect at MW.

At the same time Maravilla has looked increasingly vulnerable, and must, realistically be looking at how he can earn the most $s outta he last few fights. I'm hoping one of these will be Golovkin, but I surely couldn't blame him if he finds an alternative which is better for him.

For clarity, the opinion that that prime Sergio 'toys' with Golovkin is far from apparent to me, but I can't say for sure this wouldn't be the outcome. Personally I see even a prime Sergio busting up a dogged Golovkin but probably getting caught in the end - Ever read Jack London's book 'White Fang' ?

White Fang was the quickest slickest fighting dog in the Yukon, slipping in an' out so fast he'd leave the other dogs lay bleeding in the snow before they knew what happened. One day the steamer brought up a guy with a fighting Bulldog... well you'd have have to read it....

'Case you do like Jack London, look out for the short story 'For a piece of steak' bout a washed up old boxer trying to feed his family with a prizefight 'gainst the the latest 'new kid' in town during the great depression.

He said he would so I beleive him as he's a great warrior but he's way past his best and would get starched, If Sergio could be at his best vs Golovkin then he has a chance but I think he's past it now.

Stop posting that same lame quote you boring c*ck sucker. GGG is a hype job. You and your d*ckhead ilk are the reason why he's a hypejob. He's probably got a glass jaw and he would get schooled and stopped by any of the top guys.

He's a just another paper champ trying to David D. Haye his way into a shot at the man. His resume is dogsh*t and nobody knows who the f*ck he is. At least David D. Haye was a draw who made the champ millions more and got him on PPV. GGG will do nothing but get his ass beat.

GG doesn't deserve a shot at the champion? what about annihilating the guy who Martinez struggled with, inside 3 rounds ?

btw, you can't say a fighter has a glass jaw when he hasn't even been staggered in over 380 fights, pros and ams :hi:

No. Just no. GGG is a hype job. S*xy Sergio is a legit star of the sport. You are making a fool out of yourself trying to say GGG is a draw. The hype job king is just incredibly lucky he's with a network desperately struggling for a star. They're building him up so they can use him as fodder for the legit stars around him. He's heading for an embarressing loss as soon as he finally steps up.

How are you all getting so excited about a guy who's 31 years ols and has managed to only fight one name who was coming off a stoppage loss.

GGG hasn't fought anyone. Macklin was coming off an ass beating from Sergio. :hi:

He wasn't dumbass, he was coming off a KO 1 win over Alcine. His stock also rose in the Sergio fight, he did much better than expected, or Sergio did worse. He was like a 10-1 underdog to both.

Hey so how do you suggest he earn his shot at Martinez? If all the contenders are forfeiting on the "eliminator", he's there by default.

Is it so difficult to understand? hype job or not GGG and Martinez have similar TV ratings. Even though Sergio fought longer and better opposition so far. No one questions Sergio's resume. You think Sergio is the biggest draw at 160 because he has impressive wins. But the reality is different. Jr is the biggest draw though he's considered the less skilled of these three and Sergio has as many viewers as GGG. GGG 1st fight on HBO about 600K, 2nd - about 800K, 3rd- about 1.1. mil. The number of his followers keeps growing. I'm not arguing who deserves what. I'm just saying that according to their TV ratings apparently GGG and Sergio bring the same to the table.

I'm impressed with a boxer who destroyed Macklin in 3 rounds, while it took the champ 11 rounds to TKO him. PS Macklin came off the 1st round KO

He's never been knocked down in his career (370 fights in total in both ams and pros). Watch his fights, you'll change your opinion.
Again I hear some assumptions when the facts state otherwise.

    person you j*rk off to?
You pick strange combinations of sentences and words, which creates an impression of a bias towards favoring Martinez not necessary based on his boxing skills.

Sergio puts on his best performances when people doubt him....and there is a challenge

He looks lack luster against what looks to be non-challenges

    +1.
This poster relies on facts and that's why you can feel common sense from what he is talking about, but not some burst of emotions.
It's a fact that Golovkin's resume in slim. None of his supporters at least here questions this, but they try to show there are many other things you observers should look at, such as skills, history in ams, transformation under Abel Sanchez.
However his slim resume is presented as the 100% basis for conclusions that he has a glass jaw, he'll get toyed by prime Sergio.
He IS a hype job, but it doesn't mean that hype is not real. And with each fight he still didn't prove it's not real. Deal with it and swallow until it's not proven otherwise. You can't argue that he's had a good 2013 year.
