Right now Canelo is a Mexican idol. Personally I see him being dominated by Floyd. In my estimate his style is perfect for Floyd. I can see Canelo trying to box with Floyd which is the worst formula he could use. He needs to do what Duran said and hit him anywhere he can on the arms shoulders etc and in high volume. He won't do that so he will lose badly is my guess. So if my prediction is right and Floyd wins every round or even possibly stops Canelo late, do the Mexicans turn on him? When Cooney was facing Holmes the fans loved him before the fight but after that he was never thought of as the same. Probably the same here. I think many are expecting him to lose but still think he will be game. So assuming he is shut out and embarrassed by Floyd then what.
All depends on his performance. If he loses yet still tries hard I doubt anyone, Mexican or not, would turn on him. If he goes in there and pauses in the middle only to get out-boxed the full 12 then he will definitely leave a lot of fans angry. People need to understand that his opponent isn't exactly easy for him to look good even in winning.
turn on him or not, still will not take any additional zeros he have in his bank account from this fight. And no they will not since they will say he fought the best boxer in tis era. And in your sense, anybody would be perfect for Floyd then. Canelo's output is much lower and i think his stragety is not to win rounds, but to end it with tko or ko.. No way he can outbox floyd
canelo, or yet anyone running from floyd is a funny thought he might out box you but i don't think anyone at 147+ has been afraid of floyds power.
Well there are styles and skill sets that present more problem for Floyd. Pressure fighters at a very high level can do it. Castillo obviously. Hatton did win a few rounds I believe. Cotto made him work hard at times. A skilled pressure fighter with power would be best fit to beat Floyd. Obviously Oscar is on a different level but if he was younger he could have beat Floyd largely because of his Hall of Fame level jab. Canelo is not ending this fight with a lower output. His punching power is not good enough to do that but I believe he will try to go for the finish and fail.
Canelo was born and raised in Mexico, as did his parents and his grandparents and possibly further generations. If that does not qualify him as 100% Mexican:conf
What does being Mexican mean? Are real Mexicans dark like Lupe Pintor and Rafael Marquez or light skinned like Chavez or Canelo? Are black people born in the US American? Arabs born in the US American? Mexico is pretty diverse, it's especially surprising that Boxing fans don't know that. Are these Blaxicans real Mexicans? [yt]psgfvDjiIGU[/yt] Are these fake Mexicans? Did the Mexican fans turn on JCC after he was clowned and schooled by Pea Whitaker? Of course they won't turn on him.
