not bladerunners post per se, but i believe that floyd and his camp are sensitive enough with public opinions or even message board opinions that they would not consider someone like matthew hatton. yes you are right that it was circumstantial, but if not for critics, floyd and GBP would have no problems signing malignaggi as an opponent in a heartbeat, before berto pulled-out of the fight.
If he had of fought Malignaggi or Cintron it would have been because he had little options left after Pac's team pulled out of negotiations and jumped straight into a fight with Clottey. Similar to the thread yesterday about whether Pac should have picked someone different to Clottey, both fighters didn't have much room to maneuver at such short notice.
true this, but there are reports that matthew haton was even considered and GBP had reserved Las Vegas for March 13 for a floyd-malignaggi showdown. so if there really was no hint of public outcry (guys like bladerunner and even most of floyd's fans) from this kinds of fights, floyd nor GBP would not know that we as fans are not too excited with those fights. well cintron is good enough i say but people are fine with floyd just waiting for the berto-shane winner.
He reserved March 13th to fight Pac, that's my understanding of it. I don't think there is any chance of him fighting Matthew Hatton in Vegas, I could see him fighting him in England in the future as he's said a few times he wants to fight over here and he held a public workout in London last year. I think if Hatton makes a strong comeback or Khan comes on as quick as people think he will then I think a fight against either is a strong possibility.
I am actually still waiting for a confirmation on anyone taking my bet. The only requiremnet is for the fight to happen on or before May. Meaning the actual fight, and not the contract signing.
