The Nevada State Athletic Commission is waiting for medical records of World Boxing Association super featherweight champion Edwin Valero who is being lined up for a title fight with newly crowned WBC lightweight champion Manny Pacquiao in November, hopefully in Las Vegas.
NSAC executive director.Keith Kizer told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that the Commission “has not received any medicals on Mr. Valero. When the Commission does they will be reviewed in due course.”
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum who was guest on “Main Event” TV analyst Dennis Principe’s “Sports Chat” show over dzSR Sports Radio confirmed what he told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today on Monday regarding a meeting with the handlers of Valero to finalize details of the lightweight title fight..

Arum confirmed in his interview with Principle that he met over lunch with Japanese businessman-sportsman Akihiko Honda who handles the Venezuelan champion and they had “pretty much reached an agreement between us and would be drawing up an agreement very shortly and hope to announce the fight in a few weeks. But everything is a go.”
Arum believes the Pacquiao-Valero fight would be a blockbuster showdown since Valero is undefeated with 24 knockouts in 24 fights, 19 in the first round. He said “I don’t know whether it will be Manny’s most difficult fight but certainly it will be his most dangerous fight. He (Valero) is dangerous as hell.”

Valero who like Pacquiao has had problems making the super featherweight limit would move up to lightweight to challenge Pacquiao.
Arum noted that Valero who was refused a license to fight in the US in 2004 after a bad motorcycle accident in 2001 where he underwent brain surgery had been cleared to fight by the Texas commission. Arum said he was hoping that the Nevada State Athletic Commission would follow the example of Texas and allow Valero to fight in the boxing capital of the world

No it wasn't. Stop making **** up. Valero was one of the options but the fight was never scheduled. Pac was suppose to fight Soto, but even then it was far from being a done deal. I don't even think both camps had 1 single meeting about the fight.

Bottom line there was never an opponent set for Pac since beating Diaz. He was still only on the "lookout" phase for opponents to fight next. Soto's and Valero's names came up and until DLH butted in, team Pac seemed to be heading for a Soto bout. Pac was never afraid of Valero or Soto or any other "young and prime" fighters you people keep on blabbing. Be thankful that DLH came in, otherwise Pac would've destroyed Soto, or even worse your hero Edwin Valero. :good

    :patsch

I said Valero was one of the options. Never in that statement did it say that the fight was definitely set for Nov. 8th. And because the medical records were taking too long, Team Pac opted for a Soto match instead, which was ruined by DLH.

So who's afraid of Valero again?

jeff, your stupidity knows no boundaries. in your attempt to prove that pac was scheduled to fight pac last year, you twisted news reports. there were suggestions for pac to fight valero but nothing was signed. (as in a contract you dumbskull)

and i can imagine you now saying that pac was ducking valero, which i remember a thread was indeed made before if I am not mistaken.

please tighten a few loose screws inside you. you are nothing but a pure hater latching on any fighter with potential, hyped or otherwise, just to discredit pac.

what you quoted was a report which we all know was mere speculations at that point.:patsch

and you trust boxrec with your life? the operative word there is "contract", meaning two parties agree to enter into a transaction wherein both parties signed the document.

or do i have to spell it our slowly for you again. :rofl

Please blame the ****ing medical records Valerotard. Otherwise, the fight would've been on. What the delay of the medical records was suddenly Pac's fault now? Your as dumb as a ****ing pig. :hi:

And Soto was the no.1 option before DLH. That does not in any way constitute as ducking. Ducking is when a fighter OUTRIGHT REFUSES to fight another fighter for anything. Pac WAS LOOKING for a Soto match. No matter what he did after that, the fact that he considered Soto a possible opponent means he's not afraid of him.

Its funny how you suddenly change the subject after being exposed for twisting **** up with Pac's schedules. You sir just go owned again for the 1000th time.

Circumstances, smart ass. You don't know about the facts that happened that led to the dissolving of those fights.

Keep going with this ****. You'll only set yourself up for more FAIL.

Nope. Arum said the fight would be in Texas if Valero was not cleared for Vegas.

Circumstances explains the answer when he was fighting faded Barerra, Morales, and the two human punch-bags instead?

Yet the medical records was not released as expected. So Team Pac opted for another opponent instead, which was another "young and prime" fighter in Soto, until DLH ruined it.

You weren't watching boxing then, so you don't know how the medical records was causing such a delay.

Barrera and "old" Morales woul'dve obliterated the overhyped Valero and the "poor man's version of Morales" Soto. :deal

Please don't change the subject just because your getting flattened here.
