We have never seen a fighter with a ring belt retire with the ring belt, then a period of vacancy. What if Vitlai beat Peter? Does he get the Ring Magazine belt back? Maybe. Its up to Ring Magazine, and I think Vitlai’s performance might have something to do with an on the fence topic.

IMO, Wald should have the ring belt by now. He is IBF, and WBO champion, and owns a win over the WBC Champ in Peter. Essentially this is THREE belts.

    Probably not.

But I believe he'll be the linear champion, whatever that's worth.

What I can tell you is that Wlad couldn't care less about "ring belt". Wlad cares about winning fights and continuing to do so. If the "Ring" feels he deserves it great...if not fine. It's not up to him...but winning fights is!

Your right Suge. Out of respect, I dont think Vitali would claim it....I dont think they would give it to him anyway.

This clown VITKLIT tried to pass himself off as a worlds champion at the press conference

That's why Peter made so many comments about VITKLIT not being the champ, and the fact that he did not beat a champion.

If he can beat Sam Peter, that would be the first time he beat a HW champion...but maybe he thinks he's already the Ring champ, I don't know.

I used to respect VITKLIT more than WLAD, no more.

The only one who can carry the belt is Vitaly.

It can only be won in one of two ways - by beating the man who beat the man, or (if the man retires without losing it) by unifying at least WBC, WBA and IBF.

Since noone has unified the belts, Vitaly is the last man who beat the man and as such there is only one place the belt can be.

As Mendoza says - the closest is Wlad, but if they didn't give it to Wlad then the only place it can be is still with Vitaly according to the rules.

No. He did not "beat the man" as you say...He defeated no champion.

...he won a vacant title, and defended it one time...He cancelled his next FIVE fights...that is his entire claim to fame.

I could see vitali bringing his WBC belt. Bottom line he was champ....but the "ring belt" im surprised at that....might have tried to use it to remind Peter exactly who Peter is fighting

He should have it, if the Ring don't just change the rules again.

No way in this world should he have had it in the first place (don't start me on the bogus way that was done), but two wrongs don't make a right and all that kind of thing.

Everyone that is up the Rings ass never thinks of **** like this. What if Peter beats Vitlay - does he get the belt. (should do).

What if Lewis then came back to fight Waldo???? Would Lewis still have his Ring belt, seeing as was the last man to win it off an opponent????

Ohhh, yes, the ring is sooooooooooooooooooooooo much better than the ABCs. (end sarcasm)

If he had the Ring belt when he retired he should have it now because the belts have not been united since. I am not sure if he did though, so you may be right there.

Well when Vitali fought Sanders they were #1 and #3! I think the title can be won if #1 contender fight either #2 or #3 ranked contender!

Vitali NEVER had a claim to the Ring Belt, giving an aged inactive champ a good fight is not meriting of it.

Particularly when all he went on to do was pick up a vacant title, KO an out of shape journeyman, and sweet **** all else.
