Will we get May-Pac winner vs Khan-Brook winner in the fall?

To me, this is the dream scenario for the welterweight division (except for the fact that it leaves Thurman kinda out in the cold, but he can fight Maidana or DSG if he gets past Ghost).

And since the boxing gods seem to be smiling down on us so far this year, could this become a reality?

I think that Khan would probably have to win the potential Brook fight for it to happen, because if Brook wins he probably doesn't represent a favorable enough risk-reward ratio for the May-Pac winner to fight him.

Khan's name has more international value by far, fair or not.

 

No, the winner of Guerrero Thurman should face the winner of Khan Brook first... if they happen to fight. Khan has no resume at 147 yet. He should fight a name or two.

NO resume is a little harsh. I certainly don't think that wins over Collazo and Alexander make a #1 contender, but if he takes Brook's 0 and his IBF belt, you can hardly say he hasn't earned it. It's not like a contender has to clean out the whole division to get a title shot. Besides, it wouldn't work your way in terms of the time-table.

 

I'm talking about khan has no resume at 147. If he does fight Brook, and he beats him, then of course that helps, but beating Alexander and Collazo does not rank you even in the top 5 of ww's. He hasn't earned a shot against Brook, but money always talks.

Like i said, Thurman can fight Maidana (he's expressed an interest in doing so) or DSG should he get past Peterson (expect he will), and still have a great year. He's got plenty of time, May/Pac don't.

 

Yeah i got what you were saying, i just think that a Collazo-Alexander-Brook win streak gets the job done. Especially since his 140-pound resumé should count for SOMETHING at least. Remember, May and Pac are hardly the biggest welterweights themselves.

 

If Floyd wins, you bet you're life he'll look to unify the belts....Manny isn't really bothered I'd imagine

can't see it, if khan wins and observes Ramadan I doubt he'll be ready for September, brook doesn't have enough of a "name" internationally to make it worthwhile,

if the may vs pac fight is close, my guess is there'll be a rematch

i think we will get Floyd vs Manny II in fall. Fighting anyone else will be a letdown for either fighter. They may get addicted with the magnitude and electricity surrounding this fight and unless first fight is a total dud, a second one will be hard to resist. Who else can they fight? Khan will be avoided because he is so young and quick. I think if Manny or Floyd cannot KO him, they can lose and it would be bad. Khan's chin is suspect but if you can't expose it, he's really tough to beat.
