will wladmir ever have that career defining fight??

the reason im asking this, is because obviously he hasnt yet had THAT fight.... vitali had his against lewis, allbeit he lost it, but its helped propel him into a comparison with the greats...

wladmir has little to no options left... sure, theres a LOT of up and comers, but none of them are ready, and i think wladmir will eventually get them before thyeve established themselves as elite or at least a true threat

if he beats all the up and coming crop such as fury, price, heliANUS etc... will he get the credit he deserves for beating them easilly (what i'd expect) before theyre in their prime??

 

I think he may have that fight, but we might not realise it at the time.
He might beat whoever goes on to dominate the division. He might beat someone like gerber/mitchell/wilder which wont look like much at the time, but if that opponent then goes on to dominate the 5 years, people will look back on that fight as a defining fight

 

Wlad has, it was Peter in 2005.

And Wlad fights his way back to the top that was more important than one fight.

I don't think he ever will. Time is not on Wlad or Vitali side, atleast Vitali had his career defining fight against Lewis but fact remains it was a fight he lost. It's just is not anyone around that is a real threat to either of them but each other and they will never fight with good reason, and even if there was they would throw them in their with the Klistschko's too soon so its seen as just another win. They may just have to call it a career.

Fury, Wilder, and Boystov could make the division real Interesting but unfortunately the Klistschko's may not even be around.

 

Depends if he keeps ducking Kell Brook or not

And his win over Byrd, then the 7rd beatdown of Byrd bookended with Peter and Brock are huge.

 

He is so great he dont need one. He makes it look too easy.

Samuel Peter=Comeback Wlad seemingly overcomes his demons and gets off the canvas to upset a heavy handed contender in a Title Eliminator.

Chris Byrd=Wlad dominates the #1 Heavyweight in the World, claiming the top spot after being out of the Ring rankings just a year prior. An unlikely comeback after being completely written off.

Sultan Ibragimov=First HW unification bout since Holyfield/Lewis. Boring and one sided technical domination of a supposively game power punching opponent, pretty career defining.

David Haye=Just because it was boring and one sided doesn't mean it wasn't a Super Fight anymore. The biggest and most anticipated HW fight since Lewis/Tyson as it was billed. Wlad can't help it if David Haye couldn't get past his jab and was too cautious to engage.

 

No, no capable competitors out there - which isn't Wlad's fault. He and his brother are leagues above every other HW out there. Their winning streaks speak for themselves.

Wlad is an intelligent man who knows how important the own brain is.

He dominated his opponents and unifies with his perfect style. Great and intelligent schmapion!

 

I don't see why an exciting life/death struggle is necessary for a fight to be career defining.

While the Peter fight was suspenseful, Wlad's most exciting winning effort is Calvin Brock, if that's the guage. And unlke other Wlad opponents, Brock won some rounds too and hurt Wlad to the body.
