Jones had the belt, Tarver beat him, Tarver had the belt, Hopkins beat him, that is all there is to it, the belt was never won over the phone, the belts integrity was never in question, Hopkins is the champion that is what a championship is and how a championship works.

Your idea of acting like the champ is irrelevant and wrong, acting like the champ is beating the champ, that and that alone is what makes you a champion.

A champion without a title? Hmm ... sounds curios.
I may call the winner the "No.1 of the division" ... but not the champion.

Hmm ... Michalczewski became lineal when beating Hill right?
So is Erdei now lineal (won against Gonzales, who stopped Michalszewski)?

Despite that Erdei is Lineal , which kind of ****s things up as in almost every other case The Ring belt is a lineal one but not here .

If the Ring were handing out belts at the time Michalczewski fought Hill then Erdei would be their holder now .

Non the less Erdei is a terrible champion and Winky will be as much of a champion as Hopkins was , who was as much of a champion as Tarver was , who was as much of a champion as Jones was . So would Winky be champion.......he'd be a champion .

if you consider Hopkins a light heavyweight champion, then you should consider Wright a light heavyweight champion if he were to beat him tonight.

How is he NOT the champ if he wins? YOu cant say that one fighter only goes for alphabet belts and then dog another who wins undisputed and ring title. He beat the man who beat the man, end of discussion

 Tarver was never anything remotely close to being "The Man". There are a dozen LHWs out there that would beat Tarver and Hopkins easily right now. That Ring belt of his is as much "paper title" as it gets. "Undisputed" :patsch

He will probably be considered the man. The concession is something X decided to do. Wright is still fighting above 168 which means he is a 175 fighter!

Of course. Hopkins is THE Light-HW champ, and if Wright beats him he will be. Outside of contender Chad Dawson, I don't even KNOW, or care, who holds the alpha trinkets, and I'm an avid boxing fan.
