Maybe the least talked about match on tomorrow's Riyadh card. Important one for both men. For the young Scot this is the biggest step up in class since his setback against Lennox Clarke. For his fellow lanky light heavy (both are 6'1") this is a must-win as the Londoner has been playing leapfrog, only victorious every other time out, since 2019 - and he's now 34, making him nine years the senior here.
Hutchinson has the more impressive offense but Richards is durable and Hutchinson literally has zero defence, no guard at all and you have to question his chin after the loss to Clarke who is not a puncher. Hutchinson will likely be the one leading and setting the early pace while Richards picks his spots and fires back with counters. Hutchinson will either win on points or Richards will find his chin. I suspect the latter with Richards coming from behind and once again exposing Hutchinson's complete lack of defence and questionable chin.
Unfamiliar with both of these fighters. Why did they get matched up on the big stage? Exciting clash of styles or what?
Spider Richards is a tricky, solid Brit gatekeeper. Hutchinson was a very hyped prospect (by some - IMO unduly) before his zero was snatched. This one is basically advance or go home, wheat from the chaff.
Richards 8/13 Hutchinson 6/5 Draw 18/1 Wow! Didn't expect the bookies to install Spider as the outright fave.
Oh wait I remember Richards. I had to look at boxrec though. I remember him essentially giving away a fight to Buglioni, who himself was one of the most over-hyped Brtish prospects of that time. Has Richards uh... matured? Still milling around British level or has he advanced?
Richards ITD +140 / Hitchinson ITD +375 - Damn, seems like a hard ask of Hitchinson. Bookies think it's more likely he gets knocked out himself.
Not really surprising considering Spider has lost fairly close to Buatsi and an under-par Bivol, and Hutchinson has lost at British level.
You OK hun? The hype has proved to be justified He was the star of the show on Saturday night. And you've proved to be clueless on assessing a prospect
