This is good news.

After Maravilla beat Williams the first fight, he finally can make it official. Glad this fight is close to done.

Martinez is a true credit to the sport and one of the reasons our sport survives. I can't think of another slickster in the sport that has the warrior spirit of Sergio. The guy will fight anybody. I will never miss a Sergio Martinez fight. No matter what.

We should be able to clone Sergio in order to preserve the sport for future generations .

You can say the same thing about Williams. An exciting guy who takes on all comers. Both are equally a credit to this sport.

Here is a few points to which I will lean towards Martinez.

-Martinez was in training to fight a C level fighter before he got told he would fight Williams. So no its not the same as being in a full training camp. Martinez has shown he can make adjustments even as the fight goes on. Which is exactly what he did throughout the PW fight. That was short notice. This one i expect he will have a plan for the full 12 rounds and not have to improv from the first round on.

^^^It is the same thing. He was in training camp before he was told he will fight Williams. I don't care if it's d,c,b level fighter, he still was in training camp preparing, sparring. <<<Those people that make excuses should stick to watch other sports cause you don't know ****.

-Williams unlike Martinez can not make adjustments or fight any other way. All he can do is come forward and throw a bunch of punches with minimal defense. The one time i saw him try to change his style was with Cintron and he looked terrible. I had Cintron winning that fight but his being a ***** deserved the loss. I hope he comes and tries to box with Martinez. It would be even more embarrasing.

^^^Williams sure make adjustments by ko Quintana (Slick southpaw) in the rematch.

-The fight will take place at 160 since thats where it makes sense. PW doesnt seem to haev the same power he showed at 147 or even at 154. Not to mention this time around Martinez will be even better suited for the weight as his last fight was also there.

-Expect Martinez to work on his stamina and not have those late round issues he had in the first fight which eventually made the fight closer.

^^ Yea i know i mean it's not like Williams punch output style had anything to do with Martinez stamina in the late rounds.

-Expect a highway robbery if Martinez does not win 10 out of 12 rounds. HBO really doesnt want another one of their investments to lose since so many of them have in the past year.

^^^ I know i mean Martinez even though he was robbed in the first fight. Oh wait i forgot MARTINEZ EVEN THOUGHT HE FELT HE DIDN'T DO ENOUGH TO WIN THAT FIGHT!

My opinion is Martinez outboxes PW about 8-4 rounds and gets a SD loss. Specially on PW side of the US.

He stopped lifting weights and picked up his cardio routines, and a lot of the bulk come off over about a 3 month period. Team Pavlik now beleives that with a sports nutritionist, and a world class conditioning coach, KP can stay at 160.

That's not carved in stone, but there is a distinct lack of options at 168-175. They want a fight in November/December. The S6 makes a lot of guys unavailable. Bute has a mandatory in October. Dawson/Pascal has a two-way rematch clause, and Cloud/Johnson probably makes those two unavailable. In addition, as we all know, 160 is heating up.
