Would love to hear your thoughts on the fight. Personally, I think Williams takes it comfortably - barring any more cranial assaults by his opponent. What I can't get my head around though is why Warren would stage the fight in Newcastle? A Welshman against a Scouser and he puts it on in the north-east. Far be it from me to question FW's promotional acumen, but what the f*ck is he thinking?
I favour Williams, though I will say although he was clearly winning the first I felt he was starting to fade before the headbut and was looking a little uncomfortable. I will be interested to see how Williams looks down the stretch, providing he makes it that far.
After watching first fight I fancy Smith as I think he will start faster this time. Smith will make this a war knowing he is clearly got more balls and guts for when going gets tough and that and a quicker start will be the difference.
Interesting that Smith was the favourite last time, now Williams is even though he lost the fight. You don't see that often. Williams was outboxing Smith pretty easily IMO, it's either a Smith KO or Williams UD. Smith KO definitely possible but I'm going with Williams UD.
It was only 11/10 v Evens. When I was looking different bookies had different men favourite. Williams deserves to be favourite probably as he boxed Smith's head off for 6 rounds but he was tiring and Smith was definitely looking stronger and clearly fancying it. I don't understand Newcastle at all. There was trouble in the first fight but you'd get that anywhere in the country as both men have good followings. All Warren is doing is selling less tickets by doing this... and it will still go off.
I think Newcastle is due to a lot of very good fighters being recently signed by the promoter BUT none being ready to headline an arena show on their own yet. So he gets his new breed out on a big show in their backyard with a neutral venue for the headline acts
Williams boxed well, but Beefy was taking over and I expect the same to happen again. Smith late TKO.
