Was it Geale who did the same thing against GGG a couple fights ago? Got up and realized he was finished and told the ref. GGG is not your ordinary fighter, this guy can literally kill you. Monroe put on a pretty good show, but he must have been really hurt by the closing barrage and decided discretion was the better part of valor. A guys corner should be able to tell when he is finished and should be quicker to jump in and stop a fight sometimes, saving him from having the quitter label.
He made the right call to quit. He stood up, but realized he did not have his legs under himself and said "I'm done". Really, his corner should have thrown the towel in to save his pride.
at least he actually got into the ring with GGG, unlike the rest of the dodging ass 160lb ***gots who are **** scared of GGG.
Monroe clearly quit but gets a pass for some odd [cough, cough] reason. Any other fighter from any other part of the World would get blasted for that for the remainder of his career.
Monroe did very well, he took a lot of heavy punishment against a murderous puncher and got up repeatedly to fight back and actually win rounds. He'd already earned his stripes long before he quit.
