Ahhh...So you apparently you think Sergiy Dzinziruk is "The Goods" and a Top-Level fighter who looked tremendous last time out. And I do believe he has a Light Middleweight Title.
I do think he looked good in his last fight, as did the vast majority of the posters here. Matter of fact, you're the first person I've stumbled across to suggest he didn't look good, which is what puzzled me. I could understand questioning the opponent, as Dawson is clearly a C-level fighter, or even the entertainment factor of the fight, as Dzinziruk isn't exactly a crowd pleasing fighter. But what I can't understand is how you could possibly label Dzinziruk's performance awful. He meticulously broke down his opponent with pinpoint accuracy and an almost piston-like jab. He won every single round of the fight absorbing minimal punishment in the process. And he finished Dawson off once he was completely broken down physically and mentally, all the while coming off a 18 month layoff. I don't know what's so awful about that.
For starters a lot depends on how he looks regardless of if he wins or loses. If he looks like a shot fighter and gets beaten badly by Foreman than he might want to really consider retiring. With all his tough fights and then not being able to beat someone like Foreman, that would be a sign that Cotto is done and really might want a soft farewell fight or two and then hang them up. But I don't think Cotto is shot, he's not the same guy he use to be due to those wars but I think and I hope Cotto still has something left and the teaming with Steward keeps Cotto relevant for another year or two. If he loses and looks shot then maybe face Chavez or someone on that level as a last fight. Maybe one more in New York and one in Puerto Rico. He still has marketability and could help his promtion company by taking one or two last easy but profitable fights. If he loses and looks like he still has a little left than he should still look for a last fight or two. This time he could up the competition. Maybe face Mosley again since Mosley is on the slide as well. Or try to entice DeLa Hoya or Hatton out of retirement for a huge last fight for both guys. If he beats Foreman than he is right in the mix of things in a deep 154 pound division where he is one of its stars. I'd like to see him get another win or two before rematching Pacquaio or Margartio or taking on a top guy like Mayweather, Williams, or Martinez. So a first defense against someone like Cintron or a unification with Spinks would be good next fights before gettin involved in another brutal type of fight.
in boxing u can fight rough tests, take a break nd rest or fight a perceived "tune-up" like when Floyd Mayweather Jr. fought a lightweight at WW.
If Miguel Cotto defeats Foreman he iz n da 154 mix?? I doubt Yuri iz n da Williams-Martinez mix...or even in Sergei Diz mix.... Fuc% belts...fight da best!!
I really wanna c what Emmanuel has touched on n camp. We'll c da fifth. Thnx 4 all da great replies, u all educate me.
If he wins i'd like to see him lay waste to Berto. If he loses then i don't know... either retirement or a fight against some fringe contender.
Cotto is every bit on Williams and Martinez level but the question is what does he have left. Beating Foreman proves he still has something left and thats why I wouldn't mind seeing him, if he beats Foreman, fight someone like Cintron or Spinks before seeing him tangle with someone like Williams, Pacquaio, etc. With Cotto's pedigree, marketability, and then a belt, a win over Foreman puts him in the mix with the top guys at 154. If he wants one of those fights afterwards than he'll get one, I just personally would like to see him string a couple wins together first. Foreman beating Cotto doesn't put him on par with the best at 154 because in order for him to beat Cotto then Cotto had to have really slipped from his best. Not to mention Foreman doesn't have anything remotely close to Cotto's resume even if he beats Cotto. So yeah, Cotto wins than he's in mix for big fights at 154 but Foreman will still need to do some more work.
I think Miguel is da goodz at 40 nd 47. Cotto is unproven n any other weightclass professionally, i think. The boriqua isnt built like Santos or Cintron. He's squat with underrated boxing skills nd hella power n his punches. Let da best man win.
