Harry Simon and Vargas. And Winky should have gotten the decision is both fights AND Winky was a completely different fighter back then.

What I've highlighted wouldn't surprise me. Does any version of Winky have the juice to KO Margarito @ 154? Maybe...but I think more likely not. That said, Winky will probably defend well enough and land enough to get the decision were this fight to take place now and that likelihood increases (theoretically) with each year further back you go.

A B+ fighter that wins by attrition which would be very effective against an old man who's main weapon (his jab) would land but wouldn't discourage Margarito at all from coming forward and pushing the pace, an old man that never had much power in the first place, an old an that hasn't fought in a year and a half, and an old man that would have to starch himself to make 154. Prime vs Prime at 154, no contest, Winky hands down. Present day, i don't think so.

Yeah but they dont hit you every where like Margarito and do they really hit as hard as Margarito? Seems like people are underrating his power a bit.

    Prime for Prime it's Winky.

Nowadays? I don't think Winky could make 154 if you lopped off an arm and a leg.

You think his pressure will do a lot against Winky who handled Jermain Taylor's power at middleweight and Bernard Hopkins at 170?

Margarito's pressure wasn't all that at 154 against Daniel Santos, you think he will break down Winky Wright with all the skills that he has against a one-dimensional predictable fighter in Margarito?

Styles make fights and I don't think his pressure will work against Winky Wright and I'll actually be surprised if he backs Winky off.

It's not great and if you think it is then your really don't know what a great jab is. Alot of people with no jabs at all have floored bums with jabs.

Well just to throw my hat in this bullring, Cotto DOES have a great jab..Winky has a much better one. When Winky uses it exclusively it's the best jab in boxing.

And again I have to ask HOW Winky Wright is going to fight at 154.
