I think his pressure will work against Winky at 154 because the 37 year old man with the ring rust who hasn't fought in a year and a half (at 170) and hasn't fought at 154 since 2004 will be weight drained.
Vargas was 17-0 with 17 KO's when he fought Winky. He was a beast. He threw alot of punches and had way more pop then Margarito. Harry Simon was a punching machine and he hit harder then Margarito.
Margarito's power is actually overrated, he was never known to be a one punch KO artist. He breaks opponents down with his activity, if he doesn't land and land a lot then he won't score a KO. It's all on accumulation.
I dont know about this one. Margarito is very relentless. Has Winky ever faced a fighter who keeps coming forward and wont be hurt by his shots? You know Margos plan would be to come forward and throw 100+ punches per round without caring about Winkys power. I would favor Winky but i dont know.
Even a weight drained Winky would still be bigger and has a lot of skills to pull through it in my opinion. Margarito's style is too predictable, unless Winky doesn't fight his normal type of fight I just don't see him losing this one. A clear wide UD for Winky will always be my pick, the man has fought far better and stronger opponents, even at 37 I would pick him in this one and easily.
He has good pop behind that accumulation affect though. I am sure if he lands on Winkys forearms and elbows Winky will be feeling it.

I think you're mixing Wright with Cotto. You don't know if Margo won't care for Winky's shots, Margo sure cared for Santos' shots in their fight. It's 154 we're talking about.
