He barely makes HOF but no way an ATG. He embarrased Tito but anyone with boxing skills and a chin has proven they can, ODLH, BHop & him, he was also the bigger man. He beat mosley who was a natural LW and has never done anything significant above 147. IMO he lost to Taylor, he lost to Bhop and I haven't seen his other losses to make a comment, but on paper their still losses and I dont think they were that controversial.

Never fought a top SP unless you call the old Bronco McKart a top fighter when the met Kelly...

With me, Barry McCquigan is the standard for getting into the HOF. If he can make it, then Winky definately deserves to be in in. What the hell is Barry doing in the HOF? Who did he pay? Winky is not an ATG.

Well, what are the pre-req's to be an ATG?

A lot of people mention things Wright didn't accomplish and point at a record with some very contravercial losses and draws.

I think of Wright and I remember the signature shield defense with a scoring jab. A guy who NOBODY wanted anything to do with, who would have given anybody I can think of stylistic fits at his respectable weight. HOF? Absolutely.. ATG? hesitant, but yes because of how difficult his signature style was to deal with. Really takes something extraordinary to deal with a prime Wright.

I happen to think he's one of the best fighters I have seen to be honest. but because of his lack of opertunities early in his career, he will be kept far from ATG status. He will make the HOF though.

:huh Sorry man i have to disagree...

    Trinidad
    Mosley
    Mosley
    Quartey

a draw with bigger and prime taylor for the middle championship of the world

and a close loss to a prime vargas

and hes not getting into the HOF?

He is a LOCK... believe me.

Yes... Trinidad was far past it, and quartey was on his last leg (but still good) but he beat mosley fair and square even though mosley is a lot smaller, hes still defeated too many names to not be considered HOF, and is too good as well.

I agree he is definitely a HOFer. I hope he can get in a couple more big wins in before he hangs em up.

I dont know I Vote for neither, he needs to fight more often against better opposition and WIN, to get my vote for HOF , but probably he will make it to the HOF for his wins against Tito and Mosley

In Winkys defense, the Vasquez fight was his first big step up and the Simon fight was originally scored a majority draw, only to be changed to a majority decision for Simon. Nobody bothered explaining why one judge had a 3 point swing in Simons favor when the caeds were re-calculated.

I think Winky is a HOFer
I had the Vargas fight a draw, the best I could see for Vargas.
I think he beat Taylor. The Simon fight, I haven't watched.
