Witter/Hatton: Blame Ricky!

Im kind of shocked by some of the replies in this thread.

Its already been stated in the thread that Hatton and Witter are #1 and #2 in the light welterweight rankings. This fight makes alot of sense.

I cant belive people are saying things like

"nobody wants to watch him" - Theres alot of fighters people dont like to watch, doesnt mean they dont deserve there shot at glory.

"he shouldnt bad mouth hatton" - If every guy in boxing choose not to fight because the other guy was bad mouthing them, i dont think there would be many great fights, you all know this, if this was another Boxer saying this, you would laugh at him.

"why doesnt he make a name for himself in America" - Arent you the same guys who keep saying that American fighters should make more of an effort to fight in the uk.

I think some of you think if they face each other Hatton would have another loss, thats why you are ok with the fact that he doesnt want to face Witter.

Yes he did.Hatton turned him down AGAIN.atsch I wouldnt bother even arguing the toss with these cretins anymore.Most of them are casual fans who`ve only shown interest since the Hatton PBF clinic.There only repeating what other haters have already said.

 

I think you should read what most people have written, it says they want hatton to fight witter but they also want witter to stop basing his entire career on one fight with hatton that may or may not happen.

 

The dude sounds a little to whiny for my blood. But if this guy is not speaking from the heart, I dont know who is. He is candid and telling it like it is. I think he is a good fighter that is strong and capable of beating a whole lot of 140 guys and he being a big puncher counter puncher could of caught hatton coming in just like Floyd did. He can beat Hatton and Hatton is a smart guy. But as we well know a boxer CANNOT make fights happen no matter who they fight or knock out. Its about publicity and names. If you are a good fighter with no big promoter that likes you. You are not going to get fights. Look at what Winky been through all those years.

Of course he is! Thats why since joining Hennesy he annexed all domestic titles and has gone on to be a world champ of the WBC.He now wants to face the BEST guy in his division but naturally its his fault for wanting to prove his the best because he should avoid the recognised champ of 140 and fight someone else! Of course Witter will continue his career as he has done since he turned pro!!! But naturally his going to call out the best guy in his divisions.Ironically this is what fighters do!

 

I can assure you 95% of this board did not know who either of those fighters were before Ricky fought them.

 

I think what pisses people off, is since winning the title we have heard nothing but whining from Witter that Hatton won't fight him. I've barely heard a peek on other prospective fights, the Mayweather posing aside

He's wasting his peak years by feeling sorry for himself. If Hatton's ducking then so be it. Go out there, and secure your own legacy Junior...

 

Collazo: one of the 'names' HBO were prepared to pay for. End of story.

Urango: come back fight at 140. End of story.

and who's Hatton fought since? Castillo... no one complained about that match up before the fight and who else? Mayweather.

If Hatton doesnt want to fight Witter for whatever reason you want to pick Witter needs to stop whining, beat the other belt holders in the division and make himself a big enough draw and conjure enough desire in the fight to force it to happen.

Let's be realistic here. Witter is a tricky fighter but he's looked **** as many times as he's looked good and has only done anything with his career this last year and he's what, 34?

Hatton is a cash cow and that's why Witter has always wanted to fight him.

Personally i think Hatton has some unfinished business with him but FFS let's keep it in perspective

 

So pray tell why did he joing Mick Hennesy then? Why did he work his way from a Euro contender to a world title shot then go on to be a world champ, establish himself in the "ring" rankings and then establish himself as the 2nd best light welter in the world?

And where are these sources with Witter whining for a fight? Is Calazghe whining too now that his been calling out B Hop for the best part of 2 years?

Witter's a nobody, not even liked in Bradford. All his fans could travel to a Witter fight in a minibus.

There's no clamour in England for the Hatton - Witter fight, Witter would have to be known outside his family for this to happen.

I hope Ricky never fights him and takes out Malignaggi instead.
