See all this pish about Haye 'earning his shot', absolutely bull****. Boxers get slated all the time for avoiding risks at all costs, in favour of an easy route. Finally a heavyweight comes along who is prepared to go for the best, and he gets slated for it by many. Idiotic!
Nothing bad happens if they'd fight after Wlad would get rid of Povetkin in September. Plus - during this time Haye would be able to fight with some Ring-10 boxer to prove to all haters that he's not only some trashalker, prove to everyone he earned a championship fight. And - there would be always some excuses, for fans, for "experts". Yes, the half of threads are about this fight, but not a good one, 3/4 of all posts are of haters and fans blinded with their favorites. Why not to wait for a CLEAR fight? Otherwise it would be an excuse for many people to say it was the next fight with bum/unexperienced/not-in-shape and so on, and so on...
If he fights Chagaev then he's just asking for more of the same, this guy has real medical issues. Chagaev 2 years ago, it would be the fight to see. Now, he's not even top 10 material, I could name 10 guys off the top of my head that could probably beat him.
We need Wlad to be the ring champion. Maybe Haye can fight Valubum for the WBA. Then Wlad and Haye can fight for the Ring belt and the fight would be of much greater magnitude.
Take note klit haters - 3/4 of ESB think Chagaev is the right move. Haye has been moved to the bench.
But is it a unification bout? Two things bug me about this. 1). how could Chagaev defend a title that he should have been stripped of for not fight Valuev (please don't get me wrong here, Valuev does not deserve to be champion but we were told for months the fight HAD to happen by June) and 2). if Chagaev failed whatever hepatitis test and couldnt fight a man he could have beaten last week how the hell is he going to go into a fight against Wlad in 3 weeks?
This is a much better fight than Haye. Chagaev has really good skills, a rock chin, he has beaten real heavyweights, including Valoeuv. A win over Chagaev would put more pressure on Valouev/Don King.
:good Exactly. This is what all you Haye fans were claiming was good for boxing - to have a defined top guy. The Ring champion is THE ONLY legitimate title left in boxing. This is exactly what you said was good for the division.
