Tyson generated alot of power from his speed and punch output. Guys like Bruno,Morrison shavers all probably had superior one punch power.
The only thing i would say that in his 60 plus fights the only opponent Klitschko didn't really seem to at least shake up was Haye and Sanders where he of course never landed a punch. That right cross he hit Brewster with in round 4, well, what a fantastic chin Lamon showed. The shot was an absolute bomb.
Yea, Tyson's punches had a lot of speed and snap but weren't as forceful as someone like Bruno or Klitschko, that's just obvious from watching them. Holmes said that he had been hit by much harder punches but Tysons punches were extremely crisp and snappy.
Schultz wasn't a nobody you spaz, a nobody doesn't give guys like Moorer, Botha, and Foreman hell. He should have at least won two of those fights, very underrated fighter.
See you can go look at the guys Tyson fought and say, "they fought 10 more years and were never knocked out" but Wlad straight up puts fighters into retirement, I'm talking durable heavyweights Brewster, young undefeatred prospects (Castillo, Brock, Chambers) these careers fell apart after fighting wlad He's the only person to KO Tony Thompson x2, something Pulev and Takam couldn't do....arguably Sam Peter wasn't the same after Mike could knock you out but Wlad can end a career
how does wlad put brewtser into retirement by letting Brewster knock him the fcuk out? Brewster retired around the right time when turning shot, 4 years after his 2nd wlad fight, nothing to do with wlad. poor, a late 30something as a yardstick. no you lied above, as has been shown.
Holmes, Spinks, Tubbs, Biggs, Thomas, Ruddock had never been knocked out before. I did post this on a previous page
These threads are so stupid. Both guys have damaging one punch power in both hands. Who cares about degrees of power if they are laying out guys for the count with their best single shots. The end result is the same. Any difference comes down to a stylstic approach. Wlad is methodical and takes his time, picking his shots carefully behind a steady jab, while Tyson looked for early knockouts with explosive combinations.
Did Brooks train Wladmir? Im not too familar with who trained pre Steward Wlad The only trainer who can comment is one who trained both, or a fighter who fought both guys. Unless you've been on the receiving end of both's punches i dont see how anyone can compare.
Well in that case, i value Brooks opinion. But then what about Frans Botha? He fought Moorer, Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield and Wladmir and he said Tyson hit the hardest?
Both have a lot of power but Wlad looks to have the more one punch power. Both have different styles, Tyson was far more aggressive and threw everything in his punches, taking his opponents out quickly. Whereas Wlad is safety first and carefully fights behind his jab. He doesn't always put full power in early on and is more calculating. If Wlad was more aggressive, he would finish off fighters more quickly. But then he would be more vulnerable of getting KO'ed, like in the past.
Yes Wlad lost the first fight but he damaged Brewster, and in the second fight he punished him so brutally that Lamon is practically blind in one eye...that's why he retired. as an aside it takes a special kind of jackass to consider someone's opinion a "Lie" please don't be clouded by your hatred for Wlad...feel free to look at his record, whether you're a proven heaveyweight, a champion or an undefeated prospect after fighting Wlad you should probably call it a career...
Its difficult to measure because both are totally different fighters. I did post a list of who Tyson knocked out a few pages back, i dont think anyone read it let alone replied. Brooks says Wlad hit harder, Botha said Tyson. Probably sparring partners have their own versions. What i dont accept is people who have only fought, trained, sparred with one of them to comment on both fighters. I do feel Tyson and Lewis had similar punch power, they both stoped Ruddock, Bruno, Golota, Bruno, Biggs, and Botha. Neither were able to stop Holyfield or Tucker.
