This "fighting bums" **** goes back all the way to Joe Louis, if not before. This cliche has been repeated so often it is the motto of the incompetent boxing fan who has somehow deluded himself into thinking he's knowledgeable of the sport. Read back issues of Ring Magazine or the defunct KO magazine and you'll see that what I have written is true. There's no escaping it. Ten years ago the heavyweight division was in its worse shape ever, ten years before that the heavyweight division was in its worse state ever, ten years before that the heavyweight division was in its worst state ever and so on.
