WLAD K2 and their "offers"

2 things:

1) The Valuev offer was from negotiations well before the summer things have since changed, both in boxing and the fact that the Euro is now trading at a lower value and that the earliest conceived date would make this fight essentially impossible to hold in a football stadium. So Valuev accepting an offer this late in the game doesn't mean ****.

2) I also doubt that the Klitschko's offered Haye 50-50 no options. I remember someone saying on here that Chris Byrd talked about dealing with the bros and that their contracts would essentially give them 75-25 split, and options on you having to fight the other brother should you win, and then having to fight the originial brother after that.

 

I would say the reason for that is the time that the fight went off (around 4.30am) as well as Lewis not being that popular believe it or not.

Haye was everywhere on tv in the build up to the fight and pushed the whole 'David vs Goliath' as far as he could, he also has the sort of personality when being interviewed that people warm to and want to see him do well.

The fight went off at around 10pm on a Saturday night which also helped the numbers compared to Lewis.

EDIT - Another point is I think PPV is more accepted now in the UK than it was back then.

Hms is proving easily that in esb, most uk fans are way too biased to any of the uk fighters. Hms can't admit that Haye is holding a paper title. The same belt that a real champion Chagaev use to hold until Wlad beat the crap out of him. Wlad is really the wbo, ibf, wba, ibo undisputed heavyweight champion.

The advertisement for haye vs valuev was all over, got loads of people who weren't interested in boxing talking about it. he sold it from the whole david v goliath angle, classy pitch to draw the masses in tbh, i'll try and find the sky advert mate

I dont understand why 50-50 is so hard to believe. in the first fight with Wlad, Haye was set to get 38%....and fight in LONDON (but we all know about not getting the stadium and Sentanta) how is it hard to see wlad offering 50%
