Chambers was trying to get the mental edge by pulling this nonsense. It may have worked, had it not been for Wlad ruining Chamber's mental edge with the punching him in the head, thing.
Wladimir is known to lean and hold on to his opponents everytime they get close. Wladimir made sure Chambers didn't get within punching range at all, yet he allowed Byrd to have a couple shots at him, I wonder why?
He hardly held at all during this fight and has never held in a single fight as much as Ali did during the 70's. Your knowledge of this sport is simply astonishing.
Wlad was pulling that crap where the big man tries to tucker out the little man by placing his weight on him whenever he can. Chambers let him know he wasn't putting up with that. He was only retaliating, which is why nobody got penalized.
Eddie Chambers could be lucky Wlad did not get angry. Wlad was angy in the 12th and than ..... This content is protected It is much better to make Wlad not angry!
Hmm...I didn't hear that myself CHEF and I don't personally have a bias against Wladdy, but I've seen him do the leaning many times (Lennox too) and during the Chambers fight before Eddie picked him up. Which is why those comments puzzle me a bit. It's the first time I'm hearing it. I only caught the in ring footage minus the breaks and one post fight interview when Eddie was in sunglasses and street clothes.
WALDO was holding up close and leaning his weight on Chambers, who retaliated by picking WALD up, dropping him on the canvas at one stage. Yeah, it was a cheap shot but so is leaning on your opponent with your forearms. Lets not pretend that WALDO and co don't use the same tactic that Lewis use to employ and that Chambers just threw him to the ground to get WALD off his game. Neither tactic is exactly in the rules.
It's not really smart because you're wasting a lot of energy repeatedly lifting 245 lbs for nothing. If you plan on going the full 12 rounds, like Chambers that not too bright. If you do that 3-4 times and you earned yourself a point deduction. Wlad is too controlled nowadays to let an rather obvious stunt like that put him of his game plan.
