Wlad V George??????

Okay, you basically summed up what I said in short form..:good

 

I just dont think it would take a lot of activity to stop Wlad. Once you penetrate his force field he offers little on the inside in the way of durability.

I dont think a safety first approach would work against prime Foreman no. I just think Wlad is forced to fight inside and the more Foreman gets close the quicker Wlad loses his distance and the wheels fall off. I dont think Wlad is capable of handling any elite fighter at close range, but thats just my opinion.

 

Floyd Patterson improved his punch resistance and Emile Griffith. There have not been too man fighters that fought beyond there 40's...Archie Moore, Foreman

I'm talking durability here, not "chin". So, if he gets knocked down because of exhaustion, then that's his own problem, so to speak.. and i think Briggs/Morrison did land several of shots with mustard on them. I do agree that Morrison for most part was boxing (which is a testament on Foreman's imposing strength and will even at that point), but he also mixed in a few hard left hooks here and there.

Morricone is awesome, simple awesome. His soundtrack is in my head for almost a year now. The final showdown in "Once.." is just perfect in every way. Watched it again tonight, will watch the entire movie again soon, including the legendary first scene, but i'm short on time now. Just moved to a new apartment and the inside looks like a nuclear bomb just exploded... enough to do.


I also plan to watch the Dollars trilogy soon.

Foreman, early knockout.

 

Perhaps their wording was poor but I wager this would be in regards to improved "defense" and strategy, appearing more durable and sturdier. Older Foreman kept his chin tucked and hid behind his big cross armed defense while pacing himself. He took lots of punishment in the eyes and head but avoided getting caught too many times on the chin like he did when he was younger. Even than his defense was slightly overlooked, he actually partially blocked or pulled from alot of Frazier's hooks.

Older Holyfield took less risks, clinched heavily, and overall protected himself better.
