Fair enough, but to me, it indicates the ability to consistently beat quality opposition on a big stage. Yes, he lost to some very good fighters and performed well against Lennox but I don't think his resume of wins justify to pick him against a very good pro like Wlad. Aside from Mccall, what do you consider his best wins? Bruno had a lot of power and certainly would be a dangerous fight especially early, however, i think Wlad would use lots of movement against him. I thought Lewis was way too stationary against Bruno and fought his fight. Bruno at his best could crack today's top 5 for a time though.
I agree, If Bruno was around today he'd likely be champ, he was a very hard puncher with good boxing skills.
He'd KO WALDO with ease I'm sure of it. Try telling it to these boxrec ******s though, that just look at the height...."WOW WALDO is MUCH taller he'd win for sure" :nut
Honestly Wlad would've struggled with McCall, a man with the best chin I've ever seen and decent pop and size, we all know what Wlad does against aggressive punchers.
atsch Bruno had no Chin and no stamina. Not to mention he was also mentally fragile. Those are three horrible things to have for a fighter. Bruno was scared to death of Mike Tyson. Bruno is way overrated just like all the Brits on here try and overate all of their miserable Heavyweights.
Watch the McCall V Lewis fight again and ask yourself how WALDO would have done. Never mind WALDO, ask yourself how his big tougher brother would have fared. VITLAY would have quit with **** in his shorts after 1 round. WALDO would have already have been looking at the stars.
Bruno was mentally fragile because he only ever lost to current or future world champs :rofl:rofl:rofl How does that look for WALDO, again?
See for me that's a bonus because he was terrified and still didn't get destroyed right off. His first round, the round where most people **** themselves for fear of tyson, is the round where Bruno hurt tyson and fought his ass off. He had balls and fought hard against everyone, regardless of the result
Yep. And he came out of it. I knew when Sam Peter could not put away a mentally fragile Wlad that he would never amount to ****. Peter had Wlad at his absolute lowest point and could not put him away. Credit should go to Wlad's Team as his stamina has improved greatly he has no issues going 12 rounds, his confidence is at an all time high and the guy is on what an 11 fight win streak?
Wlad would've had a panic attack before he even got in the ring, & Vitali would've had a mysterious injury after 8 rds of McCall eating his shot like they were nothing.
I think the only time Bruno wasn't competitive was in the second Tyson fight, when he was clearly scared. Bruno actually shook Tyson in their first fight and took quite a bit of punishment before he finally folded. Bruno was competitive in all his other losses and gave a good account of himself, except for the fact that his stamina let him down. His jab was top notch, and his power was unquestionable. His chin was not great, but is was good enough. I would go with Bruno by early knockout if these guys fought. It could be a boring fight, but if anyone gets ko'd early, I go with Bruno. As shown on this thread, he is vastly underrated.
If we're talking prime vs prime, then Wlad wins easily. Bruno just does (did) not possess the speed/size it would require to get inside of Wlad's range. It would play out about like the Brock fight did.
but Mccall would be too slow to corner him. Wlad's footwork is too advanced now imo. Now a guy like Tyson who could take a punch, keep coming forward with power shots and closed distance quickly would be a very difficult porposition. The last guy to give Wlad trouble, Peter, could do all of these things to an extent. In 2005, he was quite quick at 240. He also had the advantage of rabbit punch. However, I feel Wlad's footwork, conditioning, and confidence is much more advanced now.
Bruno like Lennox Lewis was beat by some very average to mediocre American Heavyweights. Some people here like to ignore that.
