Saying tha Bruno was chinny just because he was stopped five times is just ignorant, and plain ******ed. He was nailed by Smith and put out for the count, fair enough, but he gassed against Witherspoon, took some serious bombs against Tyson before being stopped on his feet, ditto against Lewis..... and I will let him off the Tyson rematch because he had one foot in retirement and the other not far behind, regardless of the outcome of the fight, due to a serious eye injury.
Lennox had a big punch, but I think Wlad has a bigger punch. And the new Wlad has great confidence and poise. The jab and left hook are seriously better. I think the Wlad that fought Chagaev would have KO'd Lewis. :bart The jab befuddles Lennox before the right does it's job. Chagaev took some monster shots-- even more than 2005- in best shape of his life- Peter. Chagaev is no slouch.
Lewis has the Hardest straight right hand I've ever seen, he reminds me of Jermaine Taylor with his Right hand, Lewis would get great leverage and if he caught you that was it. Wlad is nowhere close to Lewis who was more complete and had great poise, Lewis did not freeze up against punchers, Wlad would've been in trouble with Tua, Morrison, near peak Mercer, Ruddock, Golota and maybe even shot tyson.
I find it funny that these Klit fans are giving stick to Bruno for losing to Smith, Witherspoon, Tyson, Lewis How do you think Wlad would have done if he had to fight them 4 in his career
A damn sight worse, if he were in the same shoes. Bruno was 24 or 25 when he lost to Witherspoon, 23 when he lost to Smith. WALDO of the same age got knocked out by Ross the Boss :rofl Bruno was around 28-29 when he lost to close to peak Tyson, the same age WALDO got stopped by Brewster :rofl Bruno was around 32-33 when he lost to Lewis but he gave a good account of himself and lasted 5 rounds longer than WALDO would have done. The worst Bruno ever looked was against post prison Tyson - and I'd still pick that version of Tyson to tear WALDO up inside 3 rounds.
The straight right and jab is comparable to Lewis' the power department in my opinion, I seen enough of both men to say that from a boxing fans point of view. That being said, Lewis was a hell of alot tougher than Wlad. Could you imagine what would of happend if Wlad was in there against Vitali instead of Lewis? His ass would of been in panic mode the whole fight, which would of lasted all of about 3 rounds. Wlad is not tough enough at the top ranks to beat any Heavyweight great with power and who will pressure Wlad. Look at the journeymen and 2nd rate fighters who got to his weak chin and exposed his lack of toughness at the top ranks, and some of you want to say guys like Foreman and Ali wont get to him? Please, save it for a complete boxing novice or a fanboy, because you aint selling me.
IMO, Lewis was the heavier puncher...Wlad throws sharper and faster punches. But Lewis' diverse arsenal and ability to alter angles probably makes him a slightly more effective puncher overall. Two of the best punchers at hw in history...Both monster punchers.
I feel Wlad's jab can dictate a fight more, when have you ever seen a fighter even come close to going jab for jab with Wlad? Mercer gave the best account of himself in 02 against Wlad, but Wlad's jab was far superior. Lewis on the other hand has found himself in close jabbing contests with Bruno, Mercer, Rahman 1, and Vitali at certain points in the fight. Oh my god I'm actually defending Wlad.
against 2009 Wlad: Wlad stops Witherspoon and 1996 Tyson (This Tyson had lost his combination punching) Wlad outpoints 1993 Lewis (I'd pick 1995-2003 Lewis to win though) 1989 Tyson stops Wlad
