What are you basing that off of. Marciano never faced an elite boxer over 215lbs. His power was never even tested in the Heavyweight division. The only true heavyweight he ever KO'd was an old, motivated for only money, way past his prime Joe Louis. And Louis was a very small Heavyweight by todays standards. The guy was 185lbs, and his opponents were similar in size.
But you have used wrong example: Brewster. Brewster knock Wlad out in the first fight and the size difference was exactly the same then. So from your point of view Wlad should have exactly the same advantage in both fights and should both times knock Brewster out, which he did not. Wlad much improved from first fight and Brewster much more declined. Marciano would have better tools than Brewster ever had. Marciano is short but more relentless than "relentless" Brewster. Marciano had at least the same chin or better and much better stamina. Marciano was also much better body puncher than Brewster. So still I think Wald power and size overall would be too much but I will guve like 40-50% for Marciano to knock Wlad out due to Wlad's poor stamina (when fight is rough) and suspect chin.
Marcianos chin was never even tested by a Heavyweight puncher. What do you think would happen if some of the B-level Heavyweights of today started fighting Cruiserweights. Brewster would be ****ing killing people, thats what would happen. Chris Byrd would be knocking fighters out, and no Cruiserweight would come close to hurting Wlad, let alone surviving two rounds with him. :deal Your comparing Marciano to Brewster. One fighter fights guys 225lb and up, and the other fought guys 200lbs and down.
Mostly yes, but there were also some huge guys on his scrap: Jerry Humphrey Jackson 254 lb James Patrick Connolly 213 lb Artie Donato 201 lb Eldridge Eatman 206¾lb Johnny Shkor 220½ lb Bill Wilson 229½ lb Joe Louis 213¾ lb Don Cockell 205 lb Not really as big as Wlad and most of them not really world class, but I think if Marciano fight in these times he would definitely be around 200 lb.
Marciano would be smallish Light Heavyweight today. I love Marciano, but Wlad would destroy him, and fast. I love Marciano, but you can't forget that fact that he wasn't the most gifted fighter, and he weighed 15 pounds under today's Cruiserweight Limit. Marciano was all heart, determination, power, and spirit. That carries him great against guys from his era, of his stature... but not against someone like Wlad. With the combination of skill, size, speed, power, and pedigree.
Huge? Are you joking??? The first guy you listed had a record of 2-1 when Marciano fought him :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl atsch Joe Louis was already retired, that brings me to Bill Wilson...who? Please stop this!!!
Yes Brewster is bigger and probably stronger than Marciano but the "relentless" part go to Rocky for sure. As Byrd the only he have he is slicker, he have no tolls to compete with Wlad. I agree with you that Wlad have big advantages over Rocky and probably would win. But Rocky have proper tolls to be beat Wald either. What somebody needs against Wald is to be relentless to soften his body, have great chin to compete for long time enough untill Wlad stamina run off and have power to hurt him at the final stage ... Peter is someone who have similar tolls but his lack of boxing skills did not allowed him to finish Wlad. I believe that Marciano skills were much bigger and he might use them properly. Still 50-60 % for Wlad to KO Rocky.
Vlad would pee his trunks when he realizes the Rocks power. Remember, you have to bring ass to get ass and when Vlad brought his ass to the Rock it would get knocked off!
Wald is like 20-30 lb bigger than these guys but he is much taller than them. So from the point of body strenghts he in on similar level. The only adventage he have is he is taller and have bigger reach. But that makes your statement about the weight difference false. The difference is Marciano was 5'10 and Wlad is 6'6 tall. Marciano strenght at 190 lb may be the same as Wald strenght at 240 lb. We are not talking about Oven Beck, Marciano is ATG and his power was exceptional. So if Rocky was fast enough to go to close distance with Wlad then the size difference and mass weight is not relevant, was he fastb enough or not?
To all the guys saying the rock would lose badly, what though do you see happening once he gets in under wlads jab,and i believe he would do it a few times at least, wlad cant fight inside,id hate to see the damage rocky would do once in range, imagine he exlploded some of his bombs on wlads chin?,you tell me what would occur?,i guess though the sheer size of wlad, may keep him back all night, with his hurtful jabs, but i can see marciano getting in a few times. He also had in the past dodgy stamina, and we all know maricano could throw punches all night, joe louis said it was like fighting a human windmill.
If he got inside and was able to fire off some hooks to the body then chin, he could have some success.
Id say so to,i can see wlad freaking out not knowing what to do,he has done that in the past, while when rock fell behind and went down before,he stayed calm, and just threw more punches till the guys he faced collapsed.
I agree to a point, but seriously think wlad lacks other offensive punches,he dont ever seem to uppercut at all,i would give the rock a fair to decent chance.
The uppercut is the missing link from Wlads arsenal. With Wlads jab, straight right and foot movement (he does have very good foot work), I think for Rocky to get in he would literally have to almost put his head completely down and lunge in. This would, most likely, leave him almost not knowing exactly where he or Wlad is precisely and lost for a small moment, Wlad would then just octopus him real quick or push him off and move.
