The absolute worse version of Wlad would have destroyed Shavers. Sanders still had to take some punishment to tag Wlad, Shavers got blasted out by anyone who opened up on him.

If Shavers tagged Wlad then Wlad would have gone to sleep.

But, trust me, Shavers would get nowhere near Wlad and would be blasted very quickly.

A guy who gassed against Purity and Brewster, made a few corrections, and is now on the verge of breaking some records for defenses and title reign length against far superior competition.

Shaver is simply not in Wlad's league.

 

Wlad beats Shavers the vast majority of the time. Too big, too skilled, too hard-hitting. Shavers has the proverbial puncher's chance, I guess. But what I think happens is that Wlad keeps him on the end of one of the best and hardest jabs in the business, and utilizes his huge reach advantage to grind Shavers down until he cracks. :!:

Does Shavers beat Klitschko the way Purrity did; take a terrible beating until an ill Klitschko runs out of steam? Probably not, Shavers did not seem to have that kind of durability.

Does Klitschko beat Shavers the way ( insert name here ) did? Most likely.


I don't think you even have to look to the top of the heap to find a current heavyweight that would most likely beat Shavers. Many of those who lost to Klitschko would probably beat Shavers.

Wladimir would not give Shavers a whiff of an opportunity. He would be careful but assertive and then he would either crack Ernie with a hook or cross. Maybe mid rounds.
