These guys saying Mike Tyson was known for his great left hook are touching themselves. Tyson was known for blistering speedy combos that had power in both hands, not one. If there was a single punch Tyson was known for it was his uppercut.
No it isn't. :nono Again, fighter A throws the punch with more speed but fighter B throws with more power, fighter C throws with speed & power but not as much of either as fighter A & B. Who has the best left hook then?:huh Tito & Oscar threw awesome left hooks but I'm positive it didn't have the same power as a Wlad left hook.................just saying. The story is the same when comparing Larry Holmes' jab to Wlad's. :deal
Come on dude I have watched boxing for over 35 years now ...you don't know what you say:-( the way wlad probes with his left then a quick jab then a powerful left hook ? never seen a HW of any time do that **** like him
What are you talking about fighter A and B and C who are these fighters. What the hell are you talking about. It is obvious a HW has a more powerful LH than fighters in lower weights but that alone doesn't make it the best left hook. And what does Larry holmes got to do with anything.
Simple minded fool................ Allow me to educate you: "Fighter A" is not specific for a reason, to keep you or me from being biased toward that particular fighter for other reasons not related to the argument at hand. Watch early Tommy Morrison KO's for an example of perfectly thrown left hook knock outs. Tommy got the pivot, snap & power into that punch just about as good as anyone, at any weight. He had some of the best technique for that single punch that I've ever seen in my 45 years on this planet. Tua throws his with more sheer force but not quite as clean with the technique. Tyson threw that punch with incredible speed and it was usually part of a combo that came from both hands so it was hard to see which punch actually KO'd the guy. Probably not as much on the technique as Morrison, or the brute power of Tua but with more speed & since he threw it in combination he disguised the punch and we all know the punch you don't see coming tends to do the most damage. So who of those three fighters had the best left hook in your humble opinion?
Stopped reading there. If you think that you can insult me by calling me a simple minded fool and then expect me to take anything you say after that seriously, you are more deluded than I thought.
The Larry Holmes argumnent was added to show how opinion plays a part in determining who throws a particular punch better. Larry: Faster, more accurate, snappy. Wlad: Much more powerful, hooks off that jab to setup left hands. Who's better with the jab? Larry is famous for having one of the best in history, not just at Heavyweight. Wlad is famous for his jab being a power punch in itself. It also sets up his left hook and the punch you don't see coming....blah blah.
Doanire's left hook p4p is faster and more powerful. Easily, and this isn't really my opinion, it's pretty much fact. Matter a fact, I think Mayweather has a better left hook p4p
I'm not the fool that didn't understand the fighhter A fighter B thing..............don't read, don't learn. You choice. You came back at my posts with "What the hell does Larry Holmes have to do with it"............and "Who the hell is fighter A....." The point is it doesn't matter who they are. atsch
Yes Wlad can hook off his jab, but Holmes used his to setup combos also. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV5GjyFRqQo[/ame]
