If D was smart (he isn't) he would step aside and wait for the winner of Fury vs AJ. He could take a year out to hone his 'skills' and then challenge the winner for all the marbles as opposed to having to go through both of them or whoever holds the belts at that time. But even he knows his chances of beating both are very slim.

If only he honed his skills around the time of the Malik Scott fight rather than paying him to dive.

wilder is done and I hope he disappears

Who cares? He was still undefeated and reigning champ for over ten years. One of the most dominant champs in history. Whether the losses were avenged or not. I guess Audley Harrison is greater than Klitschko because he avenged 4 of his losses and Wlad avenged none.

I’m not confident he fights any other than aJ. But if he does then he’s better than wlad.

I’ve always been fascinated by psychology.

Wladimir and Tyson both possess mental strengths and weaknesses.

Like you’ve noted, Wladimir had the mental strength in order to reign at the top for a decade. He had the professionalism required for great longevity. And that deserves huge respect.

He also possessed a weakness though, in regards to his negative and cautious style after the knockouts, and in how let Tyson play mind games with him during the build up to their fight. Tyson dragged him out of his comfort zone, where he made him in act in an uncharacteristic way. And that continued after the build up and carried over into the fight.

Like you’ve also noted, due to Tyson’s mental health issues, it’s highly unlikely that he’ll ever have a long reign at the top. He’s been diagnosed with bipolar, and he lives his life on a day to day basis, where he experiences huge swings in his mood. So he’s unlikely to have great longevity. So that is a weakness which Wlad doesn’t possess.

He does also possess great mental strength though. He was down and out, high on drugs with his life in a mess. He was so grossly overweight, it wouldn’t have been a shock if he’d have ended up seriously ill, or even dead. Yet he somehow brought himself back to the top of the division, by turning his life around and shedding 10 stone in weight. The mental strength required to do that was absolutely immense. But he had the will and the desire. And after just a few low level tune ups, he went and fought Deontay Wilder, despite not being at 100%. Then after he survived the last round, he went and took the rematch when many predicted that he wouldn’t.

Both guys deserve a lot of respect.

Although Wlad was obviously past his best, he was still one of the best HW’s in the division. We saw what he had left against Joshua. So it was impressive, especially as Tyson beat him in Germany.

Although Wilder is technically flawed, he was a very dangerous opponent for Tyson, especially in the first fight when Tyson wasn’t at 100%.

Beating both of those guys was very impressive, especially how he was able to come back into the sport after many people thought that it wasn’t possible.
