Valuev nearly tumbled... and was certainly caught by a few decent shots.. if Wlad gets hit by anything like them... also recall Haye saying he hurt one hand in the Valuev fight too, hence some of his hesitancy to throw many more punches with that hand.
thats what I think he will do too but I just cant see it working, valuev was one thing and he barely won that, he'll need to be much more elusive (with wlad not being valuev) AND throw and land more punches than he did which is just a massive massive ask, its basically just asking for about a 300% improvement i think his best bet would be 'to go for it' as simplistic as that sounds, wlads weakness is his chin, hayes strength is his power and speed.
Off topic really, Thinking back to the Valuev fight, Booth/Haye must have been supremely confident in their game plan to base it on getting a decision win in germany... the fact that he got it was good too. I think they will get the game plan for Klitchsko spot on.
its amazing that there are so many people picking haye, more than wlad...thats opposite to what the bookies odds would suggest
Coming up with a gameplan to only slightly beat Nikolay Valuev and an inexperienced, naive and clueless James DeGale is one thing for Adam Booth. Coming up with one to beat someone as dominant as Wladimir Klitschko is another thing. That's why it'll be a great win and deserves credit if Haye can do it. I'm sure if Haye wins we'll just get the usual "but Klitschko was just robotic and has been knocked out before" etc.
Brewster and Purrity talk about their wins over Wlad... http://ringtv.craveonline.com/blog/...tty-and-brewster-recall-their-stunning-upsets
if haye beats wlad, then fair play...he will be the legitimate world heavyweight champion in my eyes and will deserve praise for that.
That is true but at least Fury has the experience of sparring Wladimir whereas I highly doubt Hopkins has even watched a Wlad fight in the last five years or so.
Don't forget National Pride. If Haye was Irish all the Irish would like his chances against Wlad too. There's no room for sentiment with bookies though and they more than likely have it right. Haye can always win though. Ali beat Liston, Douglas beat Tyson. I just hope it's entertaining and not a snore fest of Haye running around the ring with Wlad hunting him down with the finese of Arnie in The Terminator. It could be a case of 'The Robot and the Greyhound.'
when the irish do it its called dumb nuthuggery but when the brits do it they "underestimated" the opponent
Whoever wins deserves huge credit in my eyes but I suspect that Wladimir will be called 'crap' if Haye wins and if Wlad win, Haye will be called a 'blown up cruiser':verysad
