Buddy Baer looks like a mob fighter, questionable. Was K.O by a guy with a 30% K.O ratio.

No one. Now who has Louis fought that has the combination of size, speed, athleticism, dominant jab, footwork, understanding of distance and punching power of current Wlad?

Answer: it ain't Baer, Simon or Carnera

Exacly so theres no point really anymore of comparing the two at all again ever...i hope, lets just say theyre both great champions and leave it at that

I think its better to compare two more modern fighters like Ali or Holmes vs Wlad
Modern against modern old against old is always better

Some people here need to let go of their patriotism for a moment - it's clouding their judgement

    Louis

Wladimir is no demi-God. Size only gets you so far. If Wladimir had the same opposition but never tasted defeat, you could try to make a case for him on the grounds of the zero, no blueprint, etc. But that isn't even the case.

I have nothing against people who think today's fighters would dominate those of many decades past based on medicine, training, nutrition, illegal supplements, legal supplements, etc. But to all those people, I say imagine Wladimir being born the same year as Louis and fighting in that era. In which case I wouldn't just say Louis wins, I'd confidently say Louis would knock him out.

Wladimir by KO. This may hurt a lot of people's feelings, but Joe Louis would be knocked out by Wladimir, Vitali and Lennox with no real trouble. Louis was a slow, plodding heavyweight who fought great against the likes of Tony Galento, Buddy Baer, Max Baer, Jim Braddock, Abe Simon and Johnny Paychek. Louis fought in the worst, and I do dare say worst era of heavyweight contenders EVER. Most of the people he defended his title against were in the 180-205 lb. range. Yeah, Buddy Baer was big, but he was ****. The big men of yesteryear were not talented like the big men of today. Just watch footage of B. Baer or Primo Carnera. They were not super skilled big men. The skilled size of Lennox Lewis or either Klitschko would be too much for Joe Louis.
