when Haye finally had the nuts to throw something Valuev did the chicken dance. I am not sure Marciano could get in close enough to maintain a serous sustained attack so that one could possibly go the distance but I think Louis would certainly be able to KO Valuev. The size difference with Marciano may make it awkward for him to stop Valuev but this guy was no puncher and he was 5'9 2 inches shorter than Marciano with zero power and he had some success, Valuev was limited and could be stopped

P4P Marciano is streets above Valuev , but there comes a stage when size does matter.That is my point.

Marciano hit harder slightly, he had the better chin, he was stronger, he had better stamina, higher work rate, and Marciano wasn't a sucker for a right hand the way Dempsey was(hurt by carpenter Flynn Sharkey Tunney firpo Brennan )

and most importantly Marciano beat much more skilled fighters than Dempsey did and proved himself against the best of his time. He didn't rest on his laurels like Dempsey did

 

woah how does someone who gets serially destroyed by fat journeymen beat someone who beat the best. man theres some sad kliturds lost at sea out there.

 

size is one of the things that can matter, so is stamina, so is punching power, so is heart, and there are so many so's Valuev was 7ft 300 lbs and not the worst technical fighter but I think Vlad and Vitali would have stopped him and many other heavyweights of the past. 5'11 Chagaev beat him and he is not a puncher and so did a 40+ Holyfield toothless IMO and a few others but he did not fight the elite of his era

 

If and when we see Klitchko throw a punch that misses by feet rather than inches, causing him to either fall over or through the ropes, then your point might have some validity.

 

I still am.

I just think he reached his ceiling and his potential falls off dramatically against these much larger and very skilled opponents.

If it was all about heart, he might still be champ.

We will always disagree on this. Dempsey was quicker of hand ,quicker of foot, harder to hit,imo.

Marciano was knocked down by both a left hook and a right hand.

When Marciano was champ boxing scribes said he was
a poor imitation of Dempsey.

He was as poor as p*ss but his bulk made him extremely durable.

Wlad and Vital might have stopped him, Rocky wouldn't have done so in a million years.imo

 

I've never been a fan of either brother, but I am objective.

 

Marciano's defence and movement around the ring was a whole lot better than Dempseys.

He also beat much better boxers. And he was more calculating , had better timing and would give Jack a trouncing.
