Wlad is a HW Lalonde. Wlad has never beat an Elite level fighter in his career. Is there a single HW from the past 10years besides Wlad that would even be a Hall of famer?

 

And apparently he deserved to lose the rematch with Toney clearly.

To be honest I doubt he's even seen either of the fights. Just heard that one of those was a robbery and went with the wrong one.

There is no blueprint to suggest Wlad beats a guy like Rocky. He beat nobody...He avoided a guys half as dangerous as Rock in Chisora and Briggs....Manny knew his limits.

i remember when briggs beat lyak, he said he wanted unification with everyone but he lost his first defence. he then went awol for a bit before getting a shot at vitali.

 

Yes, but it's a matter of being able to work. A guy like Peter can fight off a clinch, and did seconds before the ONE time in the fight he had Wlad in real trouble. Rocky was strong, but the laws of physics themselves are against him here. He has a LONG trip inside, and when he gets their, he's going to be wrapped up snug, and probably laid on. Holding up Wlad's bulk is utterly exhausting, and not to things like cardio and arms, which fighters condition. It wears out your back, your calves. If Holyfield's headbutt is his extra weapon, if Lennox had his holding and hitting, Wlad's is his anaconda routine; It absolutely makes a difference.

 

great point. and how many fighters have said that lennox drained them by judisciously leaning on them? ali pulled down necks and exhausted fighters?

I'm not a boxer by any remote stretch but I did some fighting and sparring and at 5'5 I can absolutely tell you that a bigger guy leaning on you during a clinch or inside when it gets slow is exhausting

 

Do you think rock's shorter arms will help him inside because he'll get his shots off quicker than wlad can clinch?
