I don't even begrudge Marciano for the dirty stuff. It's part of the game. But he will be getting back more in spades from the much, much larger, stronger better athlete and better boxer in Klitschko.

I'm sorry, throw the size argument out of the window, Klitschko is still the better and more accomplished boxer. He wins this match-up on every conceivable level.

Rock's wild swings were a product of him wanting to be a baseball player. He'd swing at opponents like he was trying for a homerun. If somebody was cought by an elbow or rabbit punch it was purely accidental and came the territory of fighting a brawler.

Wlad is an atlethe, a business man and somewhere way down the line he's a fighter. The blueprint on how to beat him is by taking him into the trenches and Rock brought his opponents through a never ending hell. Being slow on his feet is also a myth as nobody could ever get away from him. Even the elusive and slick Walcot couldn't evade him when Rock had sight in only one eye.
Its not wise to back a man who has proven to fall apart under attrition and against lesser fighters than Marciano. Rock brings devastatingly brutal power shots to where he is most vulnerable and there wont be any let up in pace.

In this video Rock hit Walcot so hard you can clearly hear the bang coming from a time when the microphones were so poor all that was heard was the cheering crowds.

dino you do bring up some valid points but you seem to be saying that since rocky didn't ever lose that he couldn't ever lose. those are 2 very very different things and just because wlad has lost doesn't mean he would lose

I tried this out on Fight Night Champion.

Rocky was getting stunned off jabs.

He headbutted me to a DQ.

 

Final minute of the final round. Wlad coasting to a unanimous 100 page decision after building up an enormous lead on the cards, Marciano desperately throwing the same punch over and over again in hopes of wearing his man down through sheer attrition. Face already mashed up from taking brutal logic bombs left right and centre, but kudos to him he just doesn't care. Looks like this one's going to the judges.

Marciano was such a fighter that he QUIT the sport at a young 32 after only 7 years of fighting. What a born fighter.

Walcott was 38, 70 plus fights into a hard career and in his last two fights. He escaped Marciano for the entire fight until the end and had Marciano almost out of there in the 10th. He was an OLD ASS man in the ring and still found Marciano easy to handle till the closing frames. Put a prime, long, decent moving heavy in there with him and he would be playing catch-up all night. Put Wlad in there and Marciano would be done chasing within five, laid out, knocked out, cold.
