you are right boxing fan regarding the fact haye never signed to fight vitali he opted for valuev but it was his injury clause that canceled the fights he would have fought for nothing the deal was that setanta were paying haye his purse etc.

I asked who does well against fighters who can counter the defense with speed and power.

Good question because you automatically think of slow fighters who counter well but if you dont have the speed you have to time and react accordingy at heavyweigh adamek would be a good matchup but his qualiy at the top is yet to be determined at heavyweight, Bernard hopkins is the best at countering and dealing with both speed and strength without doubt and floyd mayweather junior who is probably the best defensive counter puncher
    what are your thoughts

The fight was agreed but no contract could be signed until after Chisora, by that point the WBA's mandatory rule would have been enforced by Chagaev. From Ruiz 3/4/2010 - 3/4/2011 he must agree to fight his mandatory.

All negotiating went out the window and became a complete waste of time, something K2 were well aware of. If Wlad had ignored Chisora and signed to fight Haye then the fight we all want to see would have happened. But he signed to fight Chisora knowing full well it squashed the Haye fight.

Doesn't Haye still claim that the injury was legit? Did you believe the in 2009 that he actually had back problems?

Has WBA confirmed that they didn't allow extended time for unification?

    :deal

Wlad would rather face a total non-threat.

That's what I meant. There ain't many who are able to handle speed and power. Toney can be added to those two as well.

Nah not at all, I wasn't sure then and for a while gave him the benefit of the doubt but the more I thought about it the more it was obvious.

Here's what I find strange though.

Surely the contracts would have a clause that if a PPV company goes under thus removing payment from one fighter then it automatically breaks the contract? Unless the contract K2 provided had no such clause of course forcing Haye to claim injury.:think

He doesn't have to fight Chagaev, and he never had any plans to fight Chagaev before this whole thing went down. If he knew he had a mando coming up as soon as April that he couldn't get out of the fight would be signed already.

Chagaev is just a smokescreen for Haye to duck out the back door like a *****. All's he has to do is force Chagaev to take a blood test and the mando will be off.

Without a signed Klitschko contract, Haye must face his WBA mandatory, Ruslan Chagaev, or be stripped of the title.

True it obviously want an issue because it wasnt factored into it. lets face it setanta were saying they were fine up until the uk end of the business folded. Setanta uk;s downfall was not being able to compete with sky for the football contracts but they sure made up for it with the boxing coverage they showed sadly it wasnt enough.
