I'd favor either Klitschko against Haye but would like to see Haye let his hands go. Could at least be an interesting fight. If Haye can tag him who knows? I think a southpaw would have the best chance against Wlad.

Why will it be like last night, given that Haye fights nothing like Chambers? People mistake the ability to dominate a static, mediocre opponent for the ability to dominate someone who actually offers movement and ability. This situation is the best example of that.

And thats why I agree a dramatic Haye KO against Wlad would be great for Heavyweight boxing.

But Wlad's fear is also one of those thing that makes him so good at what he does. Its boring, but effective.

Everyone loves an action fighter (check my avy) but after all it is called boxing not knockouts. Gotta love it.

Wlad is head & shoulders above any of the guys in the list. If they can hit Haye, Wlad will hit with ease.

Haye is not elusive at all. Doesn't mean he's not a very dangerous fighter who can beat anybody, it simply means he has a very vulnerable defense.

Chambers and Chagaev werent static before their fights with WK. Wlads style makes them look that way. His jab is one of the best in boxing history and is very hard to get inside. People dont rate Wlad because of his pre/early Steward losses. This is very naive.

Haye has fast hands but slow feet so I think he will look extremely bad against either Klitschko. Having said that he does have a better chance than anyone because of his power. He just has to tag them first.

Look guys, Haye is a great boxer, no doubt. Certainly one of the most talented HWs of the last couple of years. I hope he can deliver many exciting fights in the coming years, if he just gets a bit more active.

But elusive? Great head movement? Hard to hit? Please, let's keep our feet on the ground and stop dreaming:

i think haye showed against valuev that his movement and defense has improved over the years. i agree, haye's defense is not that great, but it has improved. his foowork, and blocking has improved. wladimir on the other hand, i'm ure his flaws will get exposed again once he gets hit. wladimir is a top boxer until he gets hit.

Had you seen Chambers fight prior to last night? He always does that stupid sit on the ropes with his gloves up nonsense, he is very static and always has been. It was never going to work against Wlad. Haye will move a lot more, show more angles, turn Wlad around etc. Not saying he will definitely win, but he has the style to have more of a chance than anyone Wlad has fought in years.

With that I can agree. Haye would certainly be the most dangerous opponent Wlad has fought in years. If the fight happens, still crossing my fingers.

This is very true. However, in the early rounds especially last night i saw Wlad looking ridiculously open to the counter straight right and a long left hook, which happen to be two of Haye's money punches. Chambers managed to whip a couple of right hands over that made decent-ish contact, and he has shorter reach than Haye and less power. I just think that a couple of the holes in Wlad's game which the plodders haven't been able to exploit are made for Haye to exploit.

Seems like a lot of people here are more confident of Hayes chances aagianst
Wlad than Haye himself is. Don't forget, Haye pulled out of a fight with Wlad.
Also conveniently forgotten is Hayes performance against Valuev. Haye was cautious to the extreme against the plodding giant. If Haye was careful against Valuev, he'll be even more reserved against Wlad, who's quicker, much harder hitting, more accurate and more skillful than Nico. If Haye lays back against Wlad, he'll fall prey to the same fate as Chambers. Picked apart, piece by piece, round by round. To beat Wlad , Haye will have to do a Corrie Sanders, rush him and take him out of his comfort zone. Otherwise, Wlad will be able to pace himself and engage in target practice all night.
I used to think haye would be the guy to take out Wlad, but now I'm not so sure. Neither is Dave.

Id only seen highlights of him if I am honest so I will have to take your word for it. Haye has the power that is it.

I would be very surprised if the fight happens within the next 18 months anyway, so it is barely worth talking about. Goldenboy will want to make abit more money out of Haye before they go for the big paycheck because they know that a mid round KO loss would be the end of his marketability.
