Rahman s an inevitable late sub in reality.

my prediction is Wladmimir turns a fight which should last a maximum of 6 minutes into a 9 round jabathon before TKOing him late on.

Though it will probably be more entertaining than the potential Wlad - Potvetkin 12 round bore...:-((

wow, Toney-Wlad would have been much more intriguing. Apparently Rahman has very little left in him from seeing the Toney fight.

Wouldn't it be terrible if Rahman got another lucky punch KO and became a two time HW champion?! I can't bear thinking about it.

I have no problem with this fight.

Given the need to get in a substitute, and that others are already tied to fights, Rahman was one of the few choices that made sense.

He's got a top ten ranking with about 3 of the boxing orgs, given recent form Wlad would be hopeful of a good knockout after the long Ibgraimov and Thompson fights, and he has a degree of name value still.

Toney might've been more entertaining, if nothing else for the promos, but after that it's the untested and the unknown. Rahman is a decent stop-gap pick.

I agree, Rahman is beyond washed up. Klitschko could have atleast fought Maskaev, who coincidentally called him out.

co-sign. This fight is pathetic!!! All that **** about how James Toney doesn't deserve a shot and Rahman gets a shot instead?? haha, what a absolute JOKE the heavyweight division is!!

Only slightly interesting foreseeable fight is Haye vs Klitschko (either one). Other then that, what do we have to look forward to? Oh that's right; Valuev vs Holyfield!! **** yeah!

Perhaps in terms of retaining a degree of marketability.
In my view, Rahman has been in steady decline for the last 6 years.
    I wont be watching.

It's still not that bad a fight. Rahman is a live underdog.

Too slow though. Wlad will crush him.

nah good replacements would've been arreola, golota, or maybe even chambers. maskaev and rahman should have to beat even a top 25 guy before being taken seriously again (given how bad maskaev looked vs peter).

The reason he was picked as because Steward knows Rahman like a book and he is a name in America and a former Champion. He at least has a punchers chance the others didn't.
