He was hurt and knocked down against Peter, Brewster did hurt him with a grazing hook and was eventually given a standing 8, Williamson was able to put him down with one punch as well. Wlads chin is one of few weaknesses he has, going down 11 times in your career and being TKOd 3 times cannot all be blamed on getting tired.
I dont see Iggy being able to hit Wlad with a solid punch, but considering Wlads poor chin its possible.
one two from a steel hammer and its a wrap, wald woould time him up and one two him all day, with the jabs and other punches on ocassion. the new wlad cant be beat by short fighters anyway or that much shorter then him.
Sultan is to small and his talent level is way below Klits, this would be a hardcore knockout win for Klits:bbb
Sultan did not look like a world beater tonight but styles make fights and he would be forced to punch vs Vlad or get KO"D anyway
yeah im not saying he has a ATG chin. just that it's not a "only gotta tap it to beat him" kinda chin. but hey, that is better for wladiimir's opponents if they go into a fight with that mindset. technically 11 knockdowns but there were a bunch which were more tripping/not legit/exhustion/off balance etc. williamson for example has a great right hand. yet to be honest wlad was way off balance when he was hit. once he got back up he stalked williamson showing zero sign it hurt. a flash knock down in the purest sense. two of the 3 peter knock downs to me are simply not legit. hell the actual legit punch was another amature mistake by wladimir backpedalling and leaning way backwards so he simply fell over with a stiff ramrod straight right. was he hurt when he stood up? no. sanders was the only one to really hurt him. and even then he kept getting back up and was never counted out. instead the ref stopped the fight based on punishment taken. when he went down multiple times verses purrity and also against brewster he was really really exhusted. ever seen a fighter do a haymaker and fall over from their own miss? that kind of exhustion. obviously the punches helped him along! but it wasn't the punches that made him lose. sanders is the ONLY fighter to beat him with hurtful punches. and even then with world class power it took a lot of shots to make the ref call the fight off. is pavlik china chinned because he took 50 powershots, and went down? cause not he came back and dominated taylor in the third round. is tito trinidad china chinned because he gets knocked down a lot in his career? course not. is james toney china chinned when peter dropped him with a jab? of course not. is lewis china chinned? hell no. a china chin to me is where you go to sleep. or cannot beat the count after only 1 punch when not even exhusted. or sooo ****ed you dont know where you are etc. once again if bets are made, and opponents go in thinking he has a china chin then that is their big mistake. i personally think like manny steward. wladimir is so used to complete domination that he never has to get used to being roughed up, dazed etc. so when a foe gets an unexpected shot through it momentarily surprises wladimir mentally. it doesn't spark the nerves and make him lose his legs etc. it's more a shock at someone getitng through on him. the kronk gym training has helped alot with making him more comfortable with getting hit. to me the biggest danger for wladimir is NOT his chin which is fine for a heavyweight. it's his stamina. i feel if an opponent could press him to fight like he did verses brewster in the first fight, that is the way to make him exhusted and then in turn getting hit while that tired can make you go down easier. but unless a fighter like that comes along wladimir will pace himself perfectly and also watch out for a blitzkrieg attack sanders-style. stamina is his danger. not chin.
Wlad is the best heavywieght, but his chin one of the worst next to Audley in the heavywieght division, Wlad and Golota are about the same chin wise.
Just want to say that was a very good, unbiased analysis of Wlad's chin and other aspects. The haters underrate Wlad in many areas, his chin being the lead item for them. I certainly don't think Wlad has a top chin either, but saying his chin is very shaky or "glass" is absurd. For a pretty big guy I think his stamina is ok. Most fighters that are constantly pressured - especially HWs - will tire. But like you implied, there don't seem to be too many HWs out there right now that can apply that kind of pressure on Wlad w/o taking some serious shots themselves ! :deal
The man has been knocked down 11 or 12 times and TkOd 3 times, what more prove do you need. I dont want to hear that balance ****, if that was the case than I guess everyone should believe Peter slipped on the banner 3 times against Mccline. I think Wlad is a amazing boxer that is the best right now without a doubt, but his chin is his weakness, every fighter has a weakness and that is his. If his chin isnt at least shaky, then who does have a shaky or glass chin?
