The Champion that was stripped stated that he was injured and couldn't fight, But the Doctor for the Commission said that his injury wasn't that bad and that he was physically able to go a head with the bout. He refused, so he title was stripped from him and given to another, who in return lost it that night. The bout took place in Madison Square Garden.
