i cant remember woods fighting a southpaw recently? guess how he handles the lefty's could bear a lot on the outcome..
i still take him to win, tarver was rubbish in his last couple.

chuffed for woods. gets to appear as joint-headliner with dawson / johnson and maybe sets the scene for a unification fight and another decent payday if he wins.

Tarver has not been fighting the elite level since he was beaten by hopkins. He has had 3 fights in the last 2 years and 6 months, so he has also been inactive and also he is 39. Woods has been equally inactive, but he has fought higher quality opposition in his last 2 fights.

This is a very even fight on paper. Woods is the slight favourite.

Never been that impressed with Tarver, in my mind he has only ever had 3 good winning fights and they where against Jones.

I think Woods will come good and beat Tarver on points in a good fought contest

In the build up for the *Hops-Tarver fight he was complaining about Hopkins face and name being before his on the promotional banners, basically complaining of a lack of respect. Once he got embarassed by Hopkins, the 'fans' in the general forum saw fit to jump on it in their typically OTT atitude towards boxing today (e.g. a fighter loses and instantly becomes shot).

See what I did there ;)

Tough fight, Tarver's a tricky fighter and has the better pedigree.
I think Woods wants it more though, hopefully that'll drive him on and get him the points win. If he managed to knocked Tarver out, that'd be quite something.
