So what? So he hits Kongo with a left hook and now all of a sudden he's a bonafide striker? Your pitiful mate. Reaching at its absolute worst. And Mir a top 5 heavy off the back of Kongo or the rest of his hot and cold career? Honestly i dont know how anyone takes you seriously.

Good lord you are that stupid.

He was fighting Kongo, but he knows he will eventually have to fight other heavyweights, with his eyes on Lesnar obviously.

How stupid of a question, "well he didn't get stronger for the Lesnar rematch, so why would he now?" really? You just don't get it? With your mindset nobody would ever change their training and improve.

He realized he needs to be stronger, so he goes out and works with Mark Phillipe, one of the best strength coaches out there, gets much stronger and is now better because of it.

Seriously, you clearly haven't the faintest idea what the hell you are talking about if you don't get what he did and why.

It is pretty ****ing obvious; he realized he needs to get bigger and stronger after the second Lesnar fight, so he gets one of the best people to help him do that. Only an idiot would see working under a former Worlds Strongest Man competitor and consistent finalist, gaining a large amount of functional strength and size as "putting on 20 useless pounds.". But then again, you are an idiot, so it is understandable.

Did I say he is a bonafide striker, in the sense of being world class? No. The fact that he is still the only person to ever stop Nog after dropping him several times now is shown to be more than just Nog being ill, yes that was obviously a large factor but so was Mir's striking.

You defend a fighter like Rogers as legitimate because he knocked out one top fighter with a terrible chin, yet criticize everything Mir does despite him being better by such an immense distance. Still don't think Mir wouldn't steamroll Rogers?

first of all relax, beating kongo is nothing too impressive, and frank mirs ground game is overrated, his bjj credentials arent very impressive and he hasnt subbed anyone worthwhile in his career, not to mention he got beat at grapplers quest in 03 by ****in roy nelson, when mir was supposed to be at the top of his bjj game before his accident, mir is nothing more than a guy thats always gonna be in the picture and in or around the top ten, but really isnt a serious contender

So a guy who has already been a champion and holds a win over the current champion isn't a contender and never will be? What an idiot. Never going to be a serious contender, but has already been a champion and holds wins over 3 of the last 4 champions. Seriously, what exactly is your definition of a contender?

If you think losing to Roy Nelson on points in a minor competiton 6 years ago means Mirs ground game is overrated, you really have no clue what the hell you are talking about. If you want to bring up old events that aren't that relevant, why not Mir submitting BJJ world champ Roberto Traven?

Never subbed anybody worthwhile? How is subbing Sylvia, Lesnar, and Kongo any worse than Fedor subbing say Sylvia, Coleman, and Hunt?

like it or not the guy has subbed lesnar, kongo and sylvia and knocked out noguiera thats not to be sniffed at,that left hand was 'sweet as'...

he's top 5 heavyweight in my book.

was'nt too bothered about this fight originally but when king congo showed what a classless tool he is by turning his back on mir at the weigh in i was rooting for a mir win, congo you tool you got embarrassed...

Man, you really have become somewhat of a Mir hype man.

    Beeeeeb aaaaah Beeeebs!

Mir, is a BJJ fighter.. Did he ever wrestle? BJJ, isn't really a forced, brute strength discipline like Wrestling is... Haven't you learned that in your training?

Look at all the great BJJ fighters in the world.. Bunch of **** Strong Mother****ers arent they?

Mir was a highschool state wrestling champion.

And while BJJ wasn't really intended to be a discipline based on brute strength, there's quite a few submission artist out there that are very strong but still rely on technique (Mir included) and brute strenght is a plus. You can never go wrong with it.

I thought you would have already known something like that.
